All of the above to some extent. It's not a perfect system nor will it stop spammers completely, but it's more of a preventive measure. Spambots can usually be found and stopped pretty easily this way. But what purpose does it serve, does it stop spam? bots? scams? all of the above? id say all of the above, even though i have not really seen that kind of protection anywhere else. guess it works for this forum though as it seems they have been doing it for some time now. I've never encountered it before either, and as annoying as it was at the beginning, I agree with it in principle. |
