Title: Do you have any crypto?
Post by: mymenace on January 09, 2014, 10:17:37 AM
The catch phrase of the next generation, instead of do you have any money it will be ... Do you have any crypto?

If crypto replaces money

Kids will be going shopping with crypto and the various denominations.

Industry coins
Gamecoin
Toycoin
e.t.c.

Company coins
Starbuck coin
Apple coin
e.t.c

Utility coin
Electric coin
Gas coin
e.t.c.

all backed against the bitcoin (like gold is to money or the current currencies are to the US dollar)

is this where we are headed

comments welcome

I postulate

1. As money has different denomination backed against (...) so will altcoins be backed against BTC
e.g. All businesses will accept Bitcoin and using my crypto wallet my altcoins total a bitcoin amount which I can use to purchase

2. If crypto takes off a companies value such as stocks or sales will be based on social acceptance and customer relations of their coin
e.g. My company will accept payment with your coin as we have a good business relation
e.g. I work for "COMPANYNAME" and i get paid in "COMPANYNAME" coin therefore I would like to see "COMPANYNAME" coin increase against the bitcoin

3. Certain communities will back certain coins increasing their value
e.g. No longer will a company increase value based on stock or sales but on adoption of their crypto

4. Industry coins will be used by businesses who do not have a company coin and increase in value on the success of that industry

again this is only theory and am only speculating

They arent all backed by BTC, they would all be backed by the miners who are maintaining the blockchain for these coins.

I imagine I will go into a McDonalds with BTC, LTC, QRK, XPM and PPC wallets on my phone.  I will want to buy a burger, but I don't have any burgercoins, so I trade for burgercoins, but I want a drink, so I need drinkcoins, and fries, I need friescoins!

That appears to be the dream of the Alts forum! Or just one good fast secure fair crypto would do...

maybe the phrase Alt will become popular. "which alt will you be paying with sir".

cryptocurrencies are so cheap to transfer if you want to pay for something. look at paypal, they charge you 3.8% of the amount you receive and may charge more if a currency exchange is needed.
