Title: Hey from the UK :)
Post by: editor22 on January 09, 2014, 12:06:53 PM
Hi there everyone, I have been lurking in the forums for a while mainly checking out the alternative currency sections as I love to keep up to date with new trends and possible investments.

Back in early December I took the plunge into mining and currently run a 3MH/s machine mainly focusing on WDC and alts as they pop up. At the moment the rig is mining 42 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=399658.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=399658.0) which had quite possibly the best launch of any alt coin I have played with so far (Congrats Hendo420)

Since mining I started getting back into trading, after a brief dabble in Forex and penny shares a few years ago I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at the potential money to be made in such a volatile market, needless to say it has kept me awake many nights while sleeping in Fiat lol!

For the future of crypto currency as a whole I am a true believer that it is time the average person held control of the wealth and that one way or another the global economy is due for a reform to bring it into the modern digital age.

Anyhow, that is me and I look forward to contributing to this great community :)

Another Brit here.  Not sure if it is just me, but crypto seems to get relatively little interest/coverage in the UK.  Or perhaps that is true generally ...

Regarding the future I feel that we are in a bit of a bubble right now, with dozens of coins and currencies springing up practically every day.  There will need to be a rationalisation of some sort and only the more robust coins will have a future.  Of course knowing which those are is the challenge ... ;)

It's not that cold here, wusses! The world's a smaller place now and I guess it matters less where you are for this sort of thing but yeah I only know one other guy in the real world who is mining and that's just cos we know each other from work and started at the same time.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Not to bad over here at the moment, mind you I am in the south of the UK so we rarely get any severe weather! Still apparently this "polar vortex" thats gripping the states is going to make its way over next week but it will most likely just be a bit chilly  :-\

Definitely think we are in a bubble but you may as well pick a name from a hat to suss out the next big contender... personally I am looking towards WDC & PPC but it can't hurt to stash a few of the popular alts away just in case right :)

It's just right; not too cold, but there's a bit of sun shining through the clouds to take the chill away and warm you up

It's actually like that here. Might go for a walk soon instead of being couped up in doors  :).
