Title: mtgox.con and Liberty reserve
Post by: qed on March 03, 2011, 01:50:21 AM
Yesterday I moved some dollars from ntgox.com to my liberty reserve account, the money got removed by mt. gox but never reached Liberty Reserve.

Here is the log on mtgox, yes, it says Paypal but it's just a typo since you can only send to LR :

03/02/11 09:10   Withdraw Paypal   U4417883

And this is the header of my LR accaount view:

Welcome XXX XXX! You are now logged in to U4417883 (XXX)

The account is correct, i wrote to the assistence and got no answer. Is that normal?

EDIT: Payment received. It seems tey had some problems with the site.

I just transferred $10 from my MtGox account to my LR account, and verified it right away. No problems.

But I am unable to withdraw BTC from MtGox. It gives a bogus error saying Invalid Bitcoin Address. Hopefully that's just a temporary software glitch. That's bound to happen occasionally.

How long ago did you do this?  I'm trying to access mtgox and I'm getting:

I know a few details of this move and am not allowed to share them publicly.

However rest assured that it's nothing to do with Baron and mtgox is being moved to a more reliable host (guy actually runs an ISP) who will be doing everything with the proper paperwork i.e making mtgox legit.

How much time it takes to transfer Money from "Mt Gox" to "Liberty Reserve"?

I created an account and after that i transfered some money to Liberty Reserve..but didn't appeared in my balance yet.    "Liberty Reserver Account" in Mt Gox is the "Account Number" in Liberty reserve?

Withdrawal to LR is usually instant, though sometimes LR doesn't update your account for a little while. If it has been over an hour, contact MtGox by email.

Hi,

I'm going to implement a "withdraw queue" for LR, and will stop processing withdraws in realtime, because of all the problems we got with this API. This also means that you'll be able to cancel LR withdraws at a later time if something goes wrong.

During normal times, LR withdraws will still be processed in realtime, however if an error occurs or we reach the daily limit, your funds will still be scheduled for transfer. We had a lot of withdraws during the past days (I guess people fear for their funds during the DDoS) and we've hit limits I never knew existed at LR. Anyway I'm currently rewriting the LR handlers to pass through a different system that will allow more reliable withdraws and deposits.

Thanks
Mark

That's nice, I hope you get it sorted out.  But your failure to answer both of the emails I sent you (one of them now nearing 48 hours old) gives me pause about your service.  In fact, Wednesday morning was the first time I ever tried using your service, and I was met with withdrawal problems and absolutely no support.  As a pillar of the Bitcoin community who makes several hundred dollars daily, I think you not only have an obligation to make sure things work programmatically, but an equal obligation to engage in good customer service.  I shouldn't have to come to the forums and dig through a million threads with the term "mtgox" to find out what's going on.  Do us all a favor and be more attentive to your customers.

Thats not really fair at all mtgox is a ongoing headache I'm almost positive there are hundreds of email daily I'm almost certain of it then to re write and test code to work WITH a third party and on top of that in a production environment with thousands of users  and thennnnnn have to combat ddos and server transfer ect and thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn deal with irc and the forum and thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn to monkey with some one elses code keep in mind mtgox was bought from the orginal developer

so 48 hours even a week is not much to ask in such hard times give him a break till things settle down

i sent him a email see if he will manual transfer if he does he does if he doesn't and i have to wait till monday so be it... it's just money and it will be there

Being overwhelmed is _not_ a viable excuse.  Apple or Microsoft couldn't respond to a security vulnerability in their OS by saying... nothing?  That's what Mtgox has said to me thus far, nothing.  I think Mtgox is as integral to this community as either of those companies are to computing - arguably moreso now that there don't seem to be any other commercial alternatives for cashing bitcoins out into USD now that coinpal is out of commission.  Anyway I'm sure they'll get it together, but it wouldn't hurt to hire some help with all of that money they're getting.  Because if I were a buyer of Bitcoins who'd seen a news article or something, I'd be highly turned off by the entirety of Bitcoins based solely on the MtGox experience.  Many of you love to cite flaws with PayPal, but PayPal will always give you an answer, and promptly, even if it's "we've frozen your account, you have no recourse, go jump in the lake".  Get it?

PayPal and Microsoft have endless staff.

MtGox is run by a very tiny staff. We should all be amazed at what it has been able to do with the resources they have.

I also e-mailed them about a withdrawal, and yes, its taking some time to respond, but I figure they have a lot of their plate right now and will get to me when they can.

I recently registered on Mt Gox to test it out so I sold 1 BTC and withdrew it to LR USD. This was on the 18th of May. It's now the 26th of May and I still haven't seen the money in my LR account. I've e-mailed their support 2 days ago and have yet to receive a reply.

Honestly I'm not sure whether to expect the money or not at this point. It really shouldn't take a week to send an LR payment. I hope it is simply a technical issue though.

Probably just means LR had network issues when we tried to push your LRUSD. Remember to provide the withdraw ref when making inquiries about a withdraw.

First time I withdrew from mtgox I got an error (in this thread a couple pages back).  Turned out they gone over the LR transfer limit for the day.  After midnight UTC the transfer suddenly worked.

So I was hoping that this time round, when my funds didn't appear, and now the queuing system is in place, I would just have to wait til after midnight again and the queuing system would transfer everything across.  No luck, though.  It's after midnight and still no funds.  Assuming everything is working as it should, it can only mean the queue is very very long right now.  There really should be some information on the length of the queue on the mtgox website.

EDIT: Please ignore request to cancel - I've recieved the funds - However, as a suggestion it would be good if the LR delay was noted on the 'withdraw funds' page.

Thanks.

------

61034475-96cb-4dd4-8483-436c725dfa2a - Please cancel.

Kind of annoyed at the fact that the Withdraw Funds page does not state that there could be delays of a few days to withdraw to LR - it only tells you after the fact. Which really doesn't help me as I was planning to fund my account at BCM to take advantage of some bitcoins being sold for $17 (as opposed to $27 on mt gox).

Over the last 12 hours those trades have since disappeared so now I stand to actually lose money.

Could the withdrawal request please be cancelled? Thanks.

I'll also email mtgox as well.

Other than that, keep up the good work !! I am very happy with your services and do believe you are currently the best asset in the bitcoin universe.

My funds arrived, pretty much 24 hrs after being sent. This sort of delay is UNACCEPTABLE when you're dealing with ELECTRONIC payments. And considering 24hrs can mean the difference between doubling your money and not, and alternative is needed.

Going to see if TradeHill is any faster. Otherwise, it's a problem with LR.

So I did my first transfer from mtgox to liberty reserve today and thankfully I did a test first with just $19 to see how it'd go, and its been two hours so far and nothing. Of course now I see from this thread that 24 hours is a norm. That is unacceptable.

MtGox makes thousands a week and they can't click send from a LR account? They're basically sitting on my order to send, even though they've already deducted from the account.

Is this what "working with the government means"? Are they running all LR withdrawals through fed agencies before sending funds?

What happens to mtgox.com? Why do I always have to wait for the transfer of their money on LR? Why sent a mail when they should take a couple of days before they answer it?

And mail I sent to them just because they are many times greater than the delay transfer LR and if I do not sent mail, I can never get their money, but if you sent will have to wait a couple days until they respond.

I'm tired all the time to wait!
Transfer  wait!
Wait for an answer to my mail!

Seems like this was the last time I'm going to use MTGox anymore. Nothing works properly and there's no customer service. Waiting 2-3 days for a reply is way too long.

Denamen,
You should switch to bitcoin7. Bitcoin7 is way better for LR users like us. I used to use Mt. Gox too until I got tired of waiting days for LR withdrawals, account hacks tons of spam in my inbox, terrible customer service etc.

Bitcoin7 does all LR withdrawals in 12 hours.
