Title: Hashblaster - Help!
Post by: Jzilla on January 09, 2014, 04:57:17 PM
Hi All,

To my immense embarrassment and dismay, having narrowly missed out on purchasing a KNC Neptune, I happened to find the Hashblaster site which had just 'opened for business' and I went ahead and ordered four. It did not even occur to me that it might be a scam - which is needless to say, mortifying.

I have emailed and tracked the email, but it's not even being opened their end.

Now I have no bitcoins. Is there anything I can do? Obviously I know there is no way of getting them back exactly without them giving it back, which is not likely, but what about legal recourse or other methods? Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Never let the excitement of purchasing equipment or any services undermine due diligence. Always do your homework, then do it again to be sure. This helps avoid these scenarios that are becoming all too common.

Give details of whom you sent the payment to and the website address and any other info you have to hand.

If only to help others avoid the scam.

Thanks very much - obviously I'm aware it was foolish - sarcastic gifs don't help anyone but you to feel like a smartass.

People need to be encouraged to come forward about stuff rather than bury their heads out of embarrassment for fear of the scorn they will receive online.

I'm not going to be the only person scammed and this guy is getting away with it.

Thanks Colin, the address to which is was sent is 1NYHQKncPQPeSLiTJdKAV5okYNeH5cpE1i

Oh dear :(

I hope some people read this and learn lessons from it. Be very very careful before sending anyone your bitcoins.

Sorry about your loss.
