Title: Are we going towards a matriarchal society?
Post by: Moana on May 21, 2018, 08:25:07 AM
Feminism in the Western world has radically changed the relations among sexes, starting from several decades ago, and the process is going on. Balance of power between sexes is shifting and women are more and more in control. Women are getting increasingly masculinized, both in their way of thinking, behaving, dressing, working, having sex, etc., while men on the contrary are getting increasingly feminized. There are no signs that this process will revert, on the contrary there are signs that it will proceed further. Will this lead in the end to a fully matriarchal society?

I think you are spot on about men becoming more feminine and women becoming more masculine.

I'm not sure if it would lead to a fully matriarchal society though. Perhaps things would simply become more balanced between the sexes. Basically, I think we would move to a society that is less male-dominated. But who knows, anything is possible... only time will tell  ;D

I think that feminism seems to be going to the extreme and it is blindly calling for equality. However, they ignore the male and female bodies. There are differences in physical fitness, intelligence, and so on. Men and women should be equal, but I don’t think it should be absolute equality. There are some jobs more suitable for men, and there are also some jobs more suitable for women.

The thing is that by origin world was matriarchal, but how our society will move is a big question. Diversity between man and woman duties and responsibilities is erased.

No we're not heading towards the matriarchal society. It's the struggle for balance between both sexes that feminists advocate for as the society is tilted in favour of the men.

Eventhough it may be true that women are getting more masculine and men are getting more feminine, I do not see that it will lead to matriarchal society. It think that it will still balanced our society and at the same time, giving more opportunity for our society to become more diversed. I do not think that we are leading into a matriarchal society since people nowadays do not simply rely the duties and responsibilities they are acted upon to based only on their sexes. I think that gender roles may interchange or overlapped and thus not allowing a matriarchal society alone to prevail. The diversity within our society hinders us to become more of matriarchal nor patriarchal society.

I don't think that we are headed to a matriarchal society. I honestly believe that women in general really do want to be led by men. Sure, some women want to have cool jobs and power etc. But, I think that for the most part most women want a man to take care of them and lead them. I think women really want to make babies and build families. That's their natural instinct.

Eventually the pendulum will swing back and men will get tired of pretending to be women and they will "man up" again. Also, I don't know any women that are interested in these sissy boy types at all. They aren't attracted to it, they don't like it and they don't want it. Gay men might like it though I guess.

I don't think that's where things are going. First though, you should probably clarify which country you're referring. Although the "western" world has a lot in common, the state of affairs definitely differs from place to place. I think the general idea of feminism is to have equality between the sexes. I think we are and will continue to see many more female leaders in politics and in business. This is becoming more and more common. I also think that men and women in heterosexual relationship will have "less traditional" role distribution. I once visited Meghalaya in India and they have a bit of a matriarchal society. It was a very interesting experience. If you're interested, here's the Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrilineal_society_of_Meghalaya

hmm wow that would be nice, i mean imagine the women run the entire society like in a bee state or ant states, which is 99% women run that would be awesome.

men can spend time for themselves.
