Title: multi-currency wallet
Post by: Scregich on May 21, 2018, 10:41:36 AM
Hello, I'm looking for a trustworthy multi-currency wallet. Can you suggest me any? I've tried Exodus, Jaxx, HolyTransaction, Blockchain info. But none of them were able to hold my selection of coins. So by now my only option is to keep some funds on my crypto-exchange accounts.  :(

Do you know of a wallet that is compatible with a maximum quantity of various coins?

And one more question, if you don't mind. As for as I understand, all these wallets are centralized, wich means that the developers can get access to my funds, cannot they? If so, do you know of a decentralized multi-currency wallet?

Thanks in advance!

Why not try the most popular wallets like MetaMask or MyEtherWallet. They support almost every other coin that comes out as ERC20 token. You should be fine with these two wallets as they does not carry your Private keys at all. You can either download the keystone file to open up your wallet or you can just have the private key to access it.

These wallet do not hold private keys so the developers can not access your funds. Put as much as you want and any supported coin that you want. All under single roof.

but i guess he's not talking about erc20 token,  given the wallets that he mentioned clearly he's not on erc20 tokens.

Best combination is to use Blockchain for Bitcoin and Myetherwallet for ERC20 coins. These two will carry almost every coin in your portfolio if they are based on Ethereum. (I am not considering tokens based on NEM or Steller etc)

I dont think there is any wallet supporting each and every coin existing in crypto world. You have to use mutiple wallets for better security.

www.myetherwallet.com
Myetherwallet is the most popular web purse for the etherium. He must get access to your ETH addresses and ether-based tokens. At the moment it is a recognized standard for convenience, security, the size of the list of supported currencies and tokens.

I can’t recommend using multi-currency wallets.
As a rule, they do not support tokens and you have not the opportunity to know your private key.  So your crypto is not owned by you, but owned by third parties.

Why no one has yet done decentralized multi-currency wallet. Could it decide this problem?

And what about EOS, DASH, STEEM, WAVES - Which wallets can hold them?

I also encountered a similar problem, I can not find any platform for holding different tokens. you either have to do a bunch of different addresses for different wallets, or store money on the exchange, while not having any guarantees that the exchange will develop, mostly it is trash

Coinomi is one of the best wallets for multi-currency coin holders. The drawback is you have to use it in mobile platform only. Another good choice is Mycelium, I'm a big fan of its service. I heard Cryptonator also a good wallet but didn't use it yet.

Links you may need:

Coinomi (https://coinomi.com/)
Mycelium (https://wallet.mycelium.com/)
Cryptonator (https://www.cryptonator.com/)

I give you an explanation about that. In my knowledge Jax and Exodus give the ability to the users to take their private key and the developer can't get access into it. Basically it used your privatekey and you can take them anytime.
have you tried I'mtoken? But just curious what was the name of your crypto?

You can use wallets like exodus to store different kinds of coins but the truth is that there isn't one wallet out there that supports all of the coins in the market so the wallet that you end up using would depend on the coins that you want to hold in the wallet. Just make sure that you use a wallet that lets you keep your private key yourself and they don't store it on their network.

Has anyone heard of Onechain? http://web.onechain.one

ONE,all features you need in the crypto world.  Super Wallet, Thunder Transfer, Decentralized Exchange and Decentralized Chat.
the wallet supports almost 700 tokens including the ERC tokens. This is a Chinese product which they recently did an ICO. I don't know why this hasn't been known though. I only have one token, I haven't tired depositing ETH to it but I can see on the app that we can deposit several coins and tokens.

I would advice Ledger nano s. You can use the Ledger Nano S to store ETH, ETC, Dash, Ripple, Stratis, ZCash, Litecoin, NEO, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Cash, Viacoin and a few other alt currencies

Very important topic! I have the same issue, couldn't find the one place where I can buy and store all of the coins and tokens. Maybe somebody know the reason why there is no wallet for now that includes all of the top 100 coinmarketcap cryptocurrencies?

Cardano for example, some others. Is there any wallets that include all of the top 100 coinmarketcap currencies? Or Onechain has the best diversity?

I would recommend FuzeX it's a debit card and can stored multiple crypto currencies. It has a very high level of security. Its like having trezor or ledger in a form of debit card.

1, Coinomi.
2, Jaxx
Android version, iOS, desktop version of the three platforms, and Google Chrome plug-in version of Firefox all have HD light wallet and support currency: BTC, ETH, ETC, DASH, REP, LTC, ZEC, RSK, and DAO.
3, imToken
ETH-centered Ethereum Asset Wallet, available in Android and iOS versions, supports ETH, DGD, MKR, REP, DAO, GNT, etc., and does not support ETC and BTC. Easy to use.
4. Kcash Wallet is a wallet that supports multiple chain currencies and currently supports 52 currencies. Very low transfer procedures, simple operation and very safe. Supports private key export. Later support currency exchange and credit card shopping. Users both at home and abroad appreciate the support.
5, AToken, multi-currency

If the tokens you are currently holding consists of alot ERC-20 tokens. Then you must use metamask wallet for that. But since you also have major tokens like bitcoin, eth, etc. maybe you need to use the ewallet hardware which is ledger nano. It holds almost all of the tokens.

With this now, there is no problem using the Cryptonator or Coinbase and no developers will get to you. Look at Ledger also, in principle, the normal amount of crypto currency supports.

The most reliable and safe is a crypto-coin downloaded from the official website of the cryptonyms, for example, the online wallet for the MyEtherWallet etherium. But such wallets usually support only one criterion, which is not very convenient.

Exodus
Exodus provides an excellent UI along with seamless performance. It is a desktop wallet and is not available for mobile devices. Your private keys remain secure on your device and never leave it. Exodus can even encrypt the private keys for you.

The cryptocurrency exchange, ShapeShift is integrated into Exodus, which provides you with one-click, efficient trading options. Exodus supports more than 10 different cryptocurrencies and doesn’t plan on adding support for more, in the near future, because they only support the tokens that are accepted by ShapeShift. Like Coinomi, Exodus is not an open source wallet.

Exodus might only support a handful of cryptocurrencies but is famous amongst the crypto community. The vast majority of the users reviewed it positively, mentioning the active and quick support.

Supported OS: Windows, Linux, Mac
Internal Coin Exchange: ShapeShift Integrated
Ease of use: Easy to use
Open Source: No
Private keys: Held by owner
Download link: https://www.exodus.io/releases/
Score (by Cryptocompare): 4.2
Recommended: Yes, and tested.
