Title: *Closed all day* Coinye/COYE<->BTC fixed exchange (.1BTC/mil)
Post by: Kluge on January 10, 2014, 12:20:13 AM
Hodling today while market prices are low.

Haven't seen this before. Thought it might be a fun experiment. 50% of profits will be reserved for something altruistic in COYE space.

Valuing COYE @ .15BTC/mil, or .00000015BTC/COYE. You always send first.

Sell COYE @  .14BTC/mil (250K min order)
Buy COYE @ .16BTC/mil (250K min order)

Reserves:
1.5M COYE
0.358 BTC

Will you buy 200k COYE at 0.05BTC?

Title: Re: Coinye/COYE<->BTC fixed exchange (.15BTC/mil)
Post by: Kluge on January 10, 2014, 12:36:30 AM
Let's call it a "soft fixed rate." To move price, all stock of either coin must be sold out. Someone must then place an outstanding order .005 or more above or below the last ask or bid for a coin which no longer has reserves.

For example, there is currently 500K COYE in reserve. If someone buys them all, then places an outstanding order for, say, 5M COYE @ BTC.18/mil, the "fixed" price will move to BTC.17/mil with the same spread (BTC.16 sell, BTC.18 buy). Any outstanding orders beyond this must exceed the previous outstanding order by at least BTC.005. To help minimize manipulation and wasting my time, an outstanding order requires a 100% deposit. The deposit will be refunded in full if it is not at least partially filled within 12h.

To sell, price is BTC.14/mil so I can make out like a bandit.
To buy, price is BTC.16/mil for the same reason.

If that sounds good, would pay BTC.014 for the 100K sent to 5fPcLEEgCMzK1qj8udsWLakCaKAtPmEuQG

I request you send first since I think I have enough established reputation to float BTC.028 for the duration of about a minute. I'd like to get and keep this fast-moving and not involve escrow, though I'd be open to an automated escrow service if you pay the fee.

Okay. Well - buy them back and sell for double. I have 1.1M in stock, only asking BTC.16/mil. If you buy a mil @ .16, you could allegedly resell @ BTC.28 = BTC.12 profit. Do please tell those in IRC to buy from me at "stupidly low prices" too! ;D

Market will be "closing" exactly 2h after this post and reopening after I wake up. ;)

Haven't decided if allowing myself to move price manually at "reopening" is too dickish or not.

In fact, people will be attract by your low price because you are trusted user like me ;)
Although you make a fixed value to keep the lowest price, it make the market not freedom likely...
I want to know is there anybody buy some COYE from you?

Not a single buy order, yet. I'm COYE-neutral. Idunno what it'll do, so it's not like I'm particularly interested in acquiring 5M COYE at a "low" price. I just want my .02BTC spread repeatedly realized. ;D

ETA: I do have interest in COYE, though. It's not innovative or anything, but the media attention from the West lawyers gave it something big to bootstrap to. So - interest, but no grand expectations.

Received. Just to instill fear and be shady in general, I should report Armory's giving me issue. This usually happens once every 3-5 transactions, so we've been on a roll, relatively. Should be resolved within 30m.

Received. (waiting for network conf)
Was waiting for COYE network to confirm. Armory was being goofy (clicking "send" didn't do anything), so restarted it. ETA: 30 seconds by Armory's ETA ("Scanning Transaction History"), but it's been goofy before and usually takes 10-20m to resolve. 30m ETA to be safe.

ETA (edited, not estimated): Armory's fucked up its transaction history (again)... need to -rescan. If it makes you feel better, this usually happens every 2-5 transactions. Armory's actually been on a roll today.

Alright. Will give BTC address when I solve issue with Armory. Shouldn't take more than 30m. @Paper: I'd imagine this is worrying. I'll sweep a privkey into blockchain.info wallet to pay. Shouldn't take more than 10m. Sorry about all this.

Minimum order amounts raised since I was underestimating how much tx fees cut in.

"Closing" in 22m from this post. Reopening "after I wake up." Unsure if prices will remain static at tomorrow's open.

Price didn't go down. There's a spread for me to make a profit on. I buy @ .14, sell @ .16. :) I'll take the lot @ BTC.3056, though.

Can take COYE @ 5mw4MSnCyNAHfShonC8JWQz8rssY137KPH

However, I'm having an issue with Armory and going to sleep soon. It's looking like it'll have db rebuilt and be all set in 1-2h. You might want to hold off on sending until tomorrow since I won't be able to send BTC until either Armory's finished with its business or I wake up.

-Or, if you're cool with waiting - BTC addr?

Fair enough about the spread, didn't think of that..

Currently closed while I sleep. Check back in ~10-15h from this edit.

Reserves:
1.5M COYE
0.358 BTC

OK my man, I can send you 1.5 Million Coinyes for 0.21 BTC at your 0.14 per mill rate.

Still doing business?

Right. Market price is too low. Would rather wait to see this on an actual exchange than sell at a loss.
