Title: [REQUEST] A Comprehensive and Easy to Follow Guide on How to Connect to P2P Node Post by: AustenN on January 10, 2014, 02:57:47 AM With all the frenzy about GHASH and the decentralization of bitcoin I would like a little help with connecting to a p2p node. I am currently connected to slush's via a mining proxy because my miner only supports getwork protocol. My main question is do p2p nodes (list: http://p2pool-nodes.info/) accept information from the getwork protocol or will I have to set up my proxy to communicate with the node? The node I have in mind is http://50.150.117.139:9332/static/ (with various backup nodes), because of the good latency. My other question is how will I know when I am actually receiving payouts?
I also posted on reddit/r/bitcoin with no help :( http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1uv96m/request_a_comprehensive_and_easy_to_follow_guide/ Thanks for the help in advance!
