Bytecoin, BTE, was released on April 1, 2013.  This is not the same coin, it is released by someone who did not do enough homework to know the name is already used.

If you want to find BTE, please see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=169559.0

The real bytecoin is traded on Cryptsy and coinex.

This is a total FAIL.

Bytecoin was started in spring 2013 as bitcoin 1:1 copy and it's been quite well.

The real Bytecoin is BTE:

And the logo you use if from Betacoin:

What a fail...

There are actually two Bytecoins (not including this one).

The original Bytecoin (BTE) was a straight-up 1:1 Bitcoin clone. It was intended for fun and those who had missed the original Bitcoin boat. The second Bytecoin (BCN) was the original Cryptonote coin. It had a unique codebase and advanced anonymity features but was marred by its less-than-ideal distribution and mysterious origins. It would later be forked to produce Monero (XMR).
