Title: How the mnemonics works Post by: DIGNIDAD on May 21, 2018, 02:35:26 PM To generate bitcoin addresses we usually use HD wallets with the well-known mnemonics or the twelve words, this words are a way to represent an arbitrary set of bits, the entropy source used to generate the keys, additionally a checksum of the bits are used as part of the last word to prevent the modification or errors in the mnemonics, a list of words is used to represent those bits, and have variations for different languages. I really was impressed the first time that i understand how it works, someone have more comments about how this is used, hide other kinds of information using mnemonics and further applications of this algorithm.

For every wallet, they select random 12 words for this database and check if it's similar to and wallet.
