Thanks to everyone who has waited or helped, Blakecoin now has the following official pools

Merged Mine Pools *Currently BLC+PHO+BBTC+ELT+UMO+LIT

The pool has PPLNS payout, fixed 1.5% fee and is hosted in Frankfurt with a Gigabit network connection
http://eu3.blakecoin.com

The pool has PPLNS payout, fixed 1.5% fee and is hosted in Atlanta with a Gigabit network connection
http://at1.blakecoin.com

The pool has PPLNS payout, fixed 1.5% fee and is hosted in Los Angeles with a Gigabit network connection
http://la1.blakecoin.com

all pools support stratum

cgminer for pool or use one of kramble's miners for FPGA's

*note that the mining software has been ported to use the 8 round Blake-256 algo

Many thanks, pool is running well (and this post gets it on my watchlist, which is my excuse for a dumb post).

Cool. :)
Have moved my hash over to help balance the pools.

nice!

pool had an issue between 3am-5:40am this morning, I have made some code changes see if that helps  :D

details:
eliopool had a stuck socket connection and was caching the shares but not inserting them into the database tables due to the socket error, I have added some code to close the socket if it times out over 300 seconds hope this fixes the bug/issue

What is the hashrate of E3 1230 V2?

What is the hashrate of E3 1230 V2?

CPU's can't keep up with GPU/FPGA in terms of hashrate

11000 khash/s on a Intel i7 2600k as an example of quad core/8 thread cpu

Edit:
I removed CPU from the title as it would be very hard and expensive in terms of power to mine Blakecoin with a CPU with the current network hash rate ;)

Server just crashed looking into it now

Edit:
ok should be working fine again was an issue with an out of order share in the share's table  :-\

hi BlueDragon747, the pool (site) Failed to connect to database

it was the stuck socket again  :-\

reduced the timeout delay to two and a half minutes

Still getting intermittent share order issues which I am still working on  :-\

currently I have plans to release another pool in New York but getting the pool code stable first and updated on github, also need to retest my setup/run scripts for Eliopool on ubuntu 12.04 and release those on github

any problems just let me know  ;)

Trying some new changes to server code

server will be rebooted a few time expected to last no more than 45 minutes

ok all done lets see if that is more stable  8)

Edit:
still needs more work  :-\

just crashed looking at logs now

might need to re-write the share submission and open/close the cursor within the function

still unstable :-[

Edit:
updated the code to match latest I am testing on the New York server

Edit2:
kramble recommended adding a failover to solo mining, so my cgminer.conf now looks like this:

Code:
{
"pools" : [
{
       "url" : "stratum+tcp://eu1.blakecoin.com:3334",
"user" : "UserName.Worker",
"pass" : "WorkerPass"
        },
        {
"url" : "127.0.0.1:8772",
"user" : Walletuser",
"pass" : "Walletuserpass"
}
],

"intensity" : "10",
"auto-gpu" : true,
"expiry" : "120",
"failover-only" : true,
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"log" : "5",
"no-restart" : true,
"queue" : "3",
"scan-time" : "30",
"worksize" : "128",
"temp-hysteresis" : "4",
"blake256" : true,
"vectors" : "1",
"failover-only" : true,
"kernel-path" : "/"
}

if it was pool 1 and pool 2 you can also add:

Code:
"no-submit-stale" : true,

but not recommended for solo or mix pool/solo like the above

Removed the fees from the EU pool at least until it is more stable  :D

Added a pool in New York  ;D

I was using this as a test server but have cleaned the db and fixed the front end, it is using the same code base as EU server so might still be unstable until I have rewritten a few functions  :-[

payout was working but not tested since wipe

I am now working on a third server that I am doing all my tests on  8)

this should work for a pool only failover cgminer.conf:

Code:
{
"pools" : [
{
       "url" : "stratum+tcp://eu1.blakecoin.com:3334",
"user" : "UserName.Worker",
"pass" : "WorkerPass"
        },
        {
       "url" : "stratum+tcp://ny1.blakecoin.com:3334",
"user" : "UserName.Worker",
"pass" : "WorkerPass"
}
],

"intensity" : "10",
"auto-gpu" : true,
"expiry" : "120",
"failover-only" : true,
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"log" : "5",
"no-restart" : true,
"queue" : "3",
"scan-time" : "30",
"worksize" : "128",
"temp-hysteresis" : "4",
"blake256" : true,
"vectors" : "1",
"failover-only" : true,
"no-submit-stale" : true,
"kernel-path" : "/"
}

Can you tell me which part is unstable? While Im solo mining blakecoind likes to time out sometimes.

Can you tell me which part is unstable? While Im solo mining blakecoind likes to time out sometimes.

The current problem is with the shares submission to the database at some point the socket(db connection) is locking up and creating a broken pipe, this looks like it is due to the structure of a few functions that opens the connection and then opens the cursor but does not close it correctly, best practice says to close the cursor and db connection after you have finished insert but the pool code is not doing that it even reuses the socket which can also create issues and it should be flushed before reuse?

edit:
on windows due to a bug in the boost library you can get a timeout/lock that is due to be fixed in 0.9.0 by upgrading the boost library to 1.55

both pools just went offline at same time and after looking at logs it looks like someone was trying a scripted entry but just resulted in a DOS of the pool servers  :-\

both pools are back up and no access was gained  8)
