It does have a role, but not necessarily ideal for everyday transactions.

Earning money by holding them ("minting")? That's true, but you need to remember that there's no limit on total PPC supply (21m for BTC), think PPC have inflation rate of 1%/year, so this will somewhat out-balance the gains from minting. So even if the number of coins in your wallet keeps increasing, their value may go down. |
