Just a thought, but anyone willing to do this because of the anonymity of it might not be too inclined to send you a message about it. Might be better if you just post the details and let the pervs among us figure out how to go about it  ;D

I was just wondering: when you promote bitcoins to a website do you mention bit-pay, for example? If not, how do you sell the idea? The market fluctuation is not really attractive for a seller...

There are already some merchant services for that, which basically just convert you to USD as soon as someone sends Bitcoins.

At the same time, given the profit margins on most porn stuff especially online, they could certainly afford to consider speculating. :)

Maybe...but as it is, bitcoin is too volatile to be accepted..the porn site will be at a huge loss, unless they charge a bit more than they do for USD.

If you can figure out how to write a website in PHP, you can also figure out how to use the API on your favorite exchange to instantly sell them.  Yes, I know you would need to park a few coins at the exchange, but that would be the limit of your currency risk, which works out to zero per transaction over time.

OP-  Great idea to approach them.  However, conducting a poll here is probably not a good market indicator. You should poll a group of people who are already subscribing to Kink and see whether they would prefer to have an anonymous payment method in which personal financial details are not stored on the company's server.

Remember, the advantage of BTC to the consumer is not just the anonymity, but also the fact that his/her credit card details aren't stored somewhere. As it stands now, my credit card info could be hacked from any server where I've purchased stuff (amazon and dozens of others). But with btc, a hacker can't gain anything from my by hacking the company's server.  The corollary to this is that the company doesn't have to invest resources in storing and protecting customer records.

How happy would Sony have been if their recent hacks didn't release 300,000 customer details =)

Bit-pay.com permits merchant to accept Bitcoins, and receive the money as USD automatically into their bank account. Thus eliminating all exchange rate risk.

One more comment OP - the main advantage to Kink will be the zero chargeback risk AND the fact that they can accept customers from any nation in the world without risk. THAT should be your focus when/if you speak with them.

Ehhhh please don't do that. Bitcoin is strong and compelling enough over the long term that false claims are not only unnecessary, but counter-productive (and immoral). We're not selling used cars here.

While polling current subscribers might be a good idea if you can do it, keep in mind that they'll probably be less interested on average.  They've already given their credit card info, so obviously that wasn't a dealbreaker for them.

Don't guarantee it. Tell them, though, that it's another form of currency and that it potentially opens up a nice market, including a good number of, well, geeks that don't trust Big Bank and don't want a credit card. :) This is 100% true. You can also point out that many Bitcoiners have more bitcoins they can spend around than they have dollars. This is 100% true. You can also point out that because not many places take Bitcoins yet there are many people actively looking for places to SPEND them to support the currency. This is 100% true.

They're extremely likely to make enough extra sales to be worth the effort. No sugar coating or shady "guarantee" is required.

One thing that a user noted somewhere (it was a similar thread a few weeks ago) is that these companies make recurring payments so are interested in credit card numbers because they can charge monthly payments unless the user voluntarily unsubscribes. I don't know if this is the case, but anyway you don't lose anything for trying.

Many also let you buy a year up front, or six months.

Emailing you probably seems a lot less anonymous now than it did when they were filling out the survey.  Not to get into value judgments over pornography, but with a website, you are telling a machine that you like pornography.  With email, you are telling a person that you are a perv.

According to my theory, the answer is yes.  I don't know how much time or money I'd be willing to bet on the correctness of my theory, but I do know that perception is powerful stuff, even when logic says that perception is wrong.

There are some other ways to view porn with bitcoin currently avilable, bitcoinporn currently acceps anomonus donations and a camgirl i've spoken with has dediced to offer private shows through skype as well as other IM clients.(she prefers skype though)
