A FunCoin is not money. In fact it is just a commodity for fun and learning. Which makes it in fact priceless! We can build this network of learning from the ground up with ZERO risk. The only thing we will lose are the small amounts of XRP that will be destroyed with every transaction. As we trust more people, our minimum reserves will go up and we will have to compensate by getting more XRP to allow for trust lines and transactions. I believe it is 5 additional xrp for every line of trust?

If you started two fresh wallets, you could in fact issue USD from one wallet to another as long as the trust was set up. The problem is. This dollar would be useless as no one else trusts the wallet that issued it. This is the basic set up of a gateway. The balance comes from the gateway initially, but later is just iou trust balance transferred between people who also trust that gateway.

The vice pres of the Fun Coin project has created a gateway for DAB, and that instructions are here.

any IOU can be issued in ripple. If you trusted me for a million bitcoin IOUs. I could send them too you. But because no one else would have that trust in me, your IOUS would be useless. You trade currencies through these gateways that are trusted buisnesses. The numbers in ripple represent IOUS and not physical currency. That is why they call it trust.

The only iou that doesnt require a trust is xrp.

Anyways we have 2 other FUN currencies at the moment. CAC and DAB.

You can obtain DAB or CAC in two ways.

1) you can post here and request DAB or CAC instead of FUN.

2) or you can USE your FUN in the TRADE tab inside ripple, and purchase some of my sell orders for DAB and CAC.

It would be nice if some other people also listed FUN for DAB and DAB for FUn and CAC for FUN and FUN for CAC.

The point of this is to pretend that these are 'real currencies'

We are into the next phase which is make it so each mock gateway holds the currencies in eachothers wallets. It is something called a 'market maker' - which ripple uses to refer to the person in the middle. What we need to do is get my gateway a market maker, and avavav a market maker. I know that sounds confusing, it's pretty hard to put into words. I am going to be putting a lot of time and effort into getting something that is automated and live for everyone to use. But for now we can all trade FUN for DAB and CAC. You can all have as much as you want!

It requires a tad more XRP above the minimum reserve for each trust line, and each trade offer (don't remember the exact amount). Sent you a bit more..

Its lopsided due to an ask of 10 billion FUN. With only 10 million CAC, I cannot post a bid of comparable size, so the order book looks whack.

Also, the CAC/DAB and FUN/DAB pairs seem to have run out DAB. If you have some DAB, offer it. for fun!  :D

That is in fact what we are doing. The FUn gateway is different then the CAC and DAB gateway. In the ripple gateway role, they have what you call a market maker. We are in the process of setting those up. You can soon start to see rippling in your profile :)
