What are the future applications of Bitcoins?

For example Bitcoins can be the gold of the future. Governments will not control it, the peer to peer network of Bitcoins will..

There are many future applications of Bitcoins. The benefits of cryptocurrencies far outweigh that of fiat decentralisation, minimal fees, can't be counterfeited etc.

I believe in international trade and transfer of wealth around the globe, you can not beat Bitcoins with today slow, expensive and anytime confiscated (or taxed) bank wire transfers

Many people and websites may use bitcoin as a payment method.

Goverments will regulate it but wont ban it because so many businesses are accepting for form of payment. Go bitcoin and other cryptos!

bitcoin will be used in wide way, i believe. the point is that how government controls it .

I see bitcoins as a global money transfer medium. Some will use it like a secret swiss bank account.

On a more serious note, the p2p network will;

Allow rules to be made into protocols, allow the unfettered transmission of wealth, decentralise society, provide an alternative to fiat, allow micropayments, reduce corruption among other things.

Well actually already the governments have started to plan on taking control of cryptocurrency as read in the newspapers for the last few weeks. -.-

But as for all the other things hopefully this can be developed as far as possible as its pretty easy way to do business with everything. Fluid and fast.

Points of weaknesses: on and off ramps of USD and the miners, who are thankfully still distributed globally.  Bitcoin is going to be difficult to control.
