Title: Easiest place to sell in the UK?
Post by: flm on January 13, 2014, 02:55:54 PM
Hi,
I am not planning on selling, but which UK site would you recommend for selling?

I have used Bitbargain for buying, but they want fees for everything (even breathing) ;)  and for you to take a selling test of 26 questions which costs a lot! And if you fail any questions, you have to re take them until you get 100% and retests cost again more money!

Bitbargain are a bit of a dodgy money making site with shit customer service imo, so i would suggest newbies use another reputable site.

Localbitcoins is an option, but is it easy to sell there compared to Bitbargain?

Sell them on localbitcoins or this website (just use escrow). Bittylicious is a uk site, but I think you need a lot or be able to sell them frequently.

After 10th of Feb you could try eBay.co.uk - they are allowing selling of crypto-currencies then.

All the best

I'm pretty sure that Ebay is only going to allow them as similar to unclassified ads.

That means no protection for either party so buyer beware.

Localbitcoins. If you're gonna use Paypal to sell, make sure the other person sends the payment as a gift so that it's not reversible.

Indeed, even if the payment is sent as gift, the buyer is still able to chargeback....
He just need to claim the account was hacked, and the item is digital.....

Damn.....is this true? I thought the "gift" thing was pretty watertight.

I think all payments can be reversed through the bank not PayPal.

You could also see here if there is anyone near you who would be willing to buy it in person from you. You never know.

This is true, it's why it's so difficult to find sellers willing to accept PayPal.

Yup, UltraPleb is right.
And indeed I have read several complaint posts here to confirm that as well.

I recommend localbitcoins for UK bitcoin transactions. I have used them to buy a few coins, they have plenty of options and the ever important 2FA.
