I'd like to introduce a CoinCalendar inlcuding all new alt-coins premieres and other important dates ( Google calendar is used, because it seemed to be the most reasonable solution ).

perhaps an option to select different timezones would be useful for most of the people

I'll se what I can do about the timezones - but if you're a user of Gmail you can import calendar to your calendar and all dates will be shown in your timezone :) (just click the button in the lower right corner)

Maintaining this is going to be a time consuming job. Hopefully there will be others that can help you out with information on new releases and eventually perhaps for the announcers to also contact you to update the calendar.

This is a great idea I was thinking of doing something like this for miners. What I was going to do was list the specs of the coins as well. Scrypt/SHA256/CPU, whether there is a premine or not, etc.

The site seems down. Looks like transfer limit has been exceeded.

Hmm it's some kind of a "CPU limit exceeded" error ;/ I'll transfer the site to a paid hosting tommorow morning !

ok so I've added two ad blocks trying to reimbruse the hosting costs (at least part of it) :)

BTW are you going to mine silver, gold and platinum bars ? Only these ones drove my attention among tomorrows premieres ;)

UPD: Please add bitcointalk forum links to your table. It is very important to analyze the thread to understand is it worth to mine coin or not.

Every coin has a link to a bitcointalk or crytpocointalk thread ( if bitcointalk thread is not available). Links are shortened with a coinurl tool, to reibruse some money for the hosting :) (sorry for that - if there'll be voices that it bothers someone, I'll replace all of them (or a random part) with direct bitcointalk links :) )


I've updated the calendar with a good amount of new coins :)

Why not provide both a direct link and a coinurl link (specify that it helps with hosting) and let the user decide.
That way you get to be an even nicer guy and you get some (consenting) coinurl clicks too.

For example, my corporate proxy (at work) blocks the coinurl links but when I check the calendar from home I can (and I will) click thorugh them to give you a hand.

All in all, great ideea for a site. It may become very popular fast.

@coolisbad consider it done! I've never thought that way, because my corporate proxy was nice enough not to block coinurls (but looking at the past, I know they'll add coinurl to our no-no proxy rules soon) ;p

I'll update the links somewhere now and tomorrow morning! DONE :) Anyway - the paid links will reimbruse hosting in approx. 120 years ;)

And yes the 3.5% premine is a lot! The One coin and Bitcredits - same dev I believe ... mass production ;/

But you know, you can always use CGwatcher - there's a schedule option - that'll work of course only if the pools are announced before the launch (or if you're solo mining - I think ;p )

Great idea! I feel this would work well if you had a team behind you constantly trolling the forums to add new launches immediately. I just don't think it's viable for one person to be able to give it a live feed, you need to sleep/eat/have a life :p.

If I had a team, I'd need to pay them, and thats not possible, as the ads are not giving any profit ;) I try my best to update he calendar twice a day. It would be easier if there was a topic template for new coin premieres ( but coin devs are too creative with their topics sometimes ;) )

Any chance it could be auto updating? Where Users just submit their coins with a BTC Talk thread and you manually accept them then people can download an update every couple of days. That would save you precious time.

This could be an added feature if possible :).

I like this calendar, I have been using it since launch (just to let you know it is at least in use by one person :P).

Sorry let me re-word that. I meant that there will be some separate app or something like that where Users can automatically submit their coins to the app saving you a lot of time.

It will send submitted coins to a spreadsheet and than I'll have to approve or not what have been added :)

The main frame with calendar and ads is 1100px wide, I think I can make it ~1300 - I guess 1366x768 is the most popular resolution.

I've been thinking about starting a pool with new coins and so far I've decided to start a SmartCoin p2pool node to test the possible popularity of such a mine.
From now on it can go three ways:
- I'll stay with p2pool and add new coins succesively
- I'll switch to stratum mining (but it'll need more hard work and good security)
- I'll give up the idea :)

it's only a matter of time and someone else will set up a calandar for free.  In case you didn't notice only a small percentage of people are willing to pay for information.  It's one thing having ads all over to pay for hosting, but to charging before you get major traffic is a sure-fail way.  keep it free, be #1, and cash in later bro.  Although I likely would have donated if you posted a notice, I'm out.

I don't know what's your problem with maxcoin - it's moreprofitable than most of the altcoins ..
