One can easily be reversed, the other can't. The risk is too high for most people to take. And even if you do run into someone crazy enough to sell you btc for paypal, you're probably going to need more than 1 post in the newbies section to prove your trustworthiness.

If you use your PayPal account to trade Bitcoins, you're likely going to get your account frozen. with someone you trust. Only time I have used Paypal is by finding a reputable member on bitcoin-otc to sell me a small amount of BTC.
