Title: A little miner with nice questions
Post by: JUmpy14 on January 14, 2014, 10:39:03 PM
Hello all
i mining since 2 days now and i love that, really,  i read all forum i can
Im not here for make money especially but it s look like fun to mine (and i love trading + informatic)

I have some questions.

1/Do you have a link to a wattmeters , i want to know my cost of electricty (i saw some for 20 euros and others for 400....)

2/In cgminers config some coin are not referr. so i make the choise to put not any coin (as for nanotoken, diamond or dgb) its a pb ?

3/My vapor X 6850 give me 210Hashrate/sec.   with more intensity or shadow i cant have more its no strange ?

4/Do you have a link to a thread or forum who can explain how its work mining a block and discovering a block, signification of share..

5/ I dont undestand the "difficulty" word about coin, what does it mean ?

6/ When i mine i gain credit right ? so i need a wallet to transfer credit ?, in the wallet i can have the value of credit for each coin ?
i would like to know how many euros i can earn with 100 k credit of nanotoken for example

if you have a wallet for me with many coins choise  (i created a cryptsy but some guys said it s not so good)

7 / its preferable to mine w/o any stop and pause or cgminer dont care and i ll dont lost credit ?

thanks a lot for you helps :)

You've basically asked for an entire explanation, from the top down, of every aspect of mining and cryptocurency :) Any reply would not be short!

Having said that, I will be watching this thread, as you have some questions I am still researching too. (I am a newbie too!)

Hope someone helps you!

Rit.

OK. I'll try to help you and answer some of these. In return, all I ask is that you check out my site for the latest BTC news! It's literally 2 days old so be nice :D ... http://www.thebtcdaily.com/

1) A wall-in wattameter (for American plugs anyway): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009MDBU/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

2) Not sure what this question is, what setting in cgminer are you trying to configure?

3) 210-240 kH/s is normal for your card. Try these settings: -I 17 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 3840 (via: https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison)

4) Mining a 'block' is a lottery. Only one machine gets it. If you are in a "pool", that is then distributed amongst the miners evenly (or so we hope).

5) Difficulty is how hard it is to mine one block. This is usually done to slow down or speed up the "rate" in which coins are mined. Difficulty is not set and is always changing based on prior historical data.

6) When you mine, you make a share of the 'prize' which would be whatever coin you are mining. These coins would then be sent to your wallet (from your pool/online account). Then you could yes, trade your coins for EUR or USD or BTC or w/e you want.

7) CGMiner will only mine while it's on/running. If it's not running, you will not 'make' anything.

thanks mate
yes ill check your forum :)

2 : Setting ->manage profil -> coin (scroll menu) : all coin are not listed....so its important if i dont select one ?

5 : Low difficulty = more share = more credit = more profit righ ?

7 : I mean : a guy with 24/24h mining will have more profit than a guy mining 7h / stop for some minute / 7h..../ stop ?

thanks again
