The new difficulty algo will be active from block 20055. It will readjust difficulty at block 20130 to 4K I believe. After that you'll see difficulty adjustments every 144 blocks (with a target period of 24 hours). You might have wanted to do that adjustment at 20060 instead of 20130, this is going to take ages.
