Title: Bitcoin $7 Mtgox
Post by: lightlord on September 06, 2011, 06:35:42 AM
Bitcoin just crashed to $6.90; who is tired of bitcoins; and doesn't want to be in it anymore?
If not interested and want to dump them; I can use them i guess; even me is losing faith in it as well

1K1twE3TsjDhcAzEk6QfTqytHSkhmosNDW

It could be the day that it crashes to $3 or less; so selling them might be your less option before its not worth anything anymore.
I was dumb spending 3K on computers doing this; and now btc is at $7.

It might just die out.

And its falling fast.

I think i0coin could be the future; solidcoin is being shut down by a lot of exchanges; and i0coin copies solidcoin rules; so maybe it will be the successor to solidcoin; and in the future be worth something; I invested 15 btc roughly and got 16K and rest i sold; and now going to put all my mining hardware up for sale; as this price is not looking good at mtgox.

You guys do realize the more you panic the more the price will go down right? Posting your panic makes others panic and more and more people sell off making the price go even lower...

Hard to take the OP seriously when his first post amounts to "maybe you should just give me your BTC instead of panic selling."
 ::) ::)
This is a novel concept: panic begging.

Doesn't seem to work very well though:

Well i wasn't completely insisting on it; i was only saying if someone were to dumb all there bitcoins randomly to no where; i would perfer to take those then randomly dumping them. I wasn't insisting on it.

Its worth money; so I wouldn't recommend you send any to me; but
sell it.

It is $6.53 currently; it went down to $6.16; so right now is a high point; it will properly continue to decline.

I mean its possible it could go up; and now be the best time to buy;
But as a trader you must always think about your potential losses first; else you won't be a good trader.

I invested at least a part of my btc; on all other chains; and rest i sold;
like couple at solidcoin, some at i0coin, some at ixcoin;
as perhaps in the future one of these chains will work out.

Soldicoin is been shut down and removed by a lot; like bitparking solidcoin, ruxum, solidcoin guild pool, etc.

i0coin mimics the excat same rules of solidcoin; so i suspect in about a month or two or perhaps in the future; it will be very successful just like solidcoin and have its huge increase in price; i did invested 15btc; and got 16K; again i know its a risk; but i do think of its potential losses; I know I could lose everything of that 15btc.

But again if it does go up hugely; from 0.0008 to 0.03 like solidcoin did; then my 15btc becomes 600btc.

Bitcoin is looking worrying; it might collapse; and perhaps another digital currency will take over. Not neccessarly the first thing is the successful thing; in life first thing rises and another thing takes over eventually. So the same could occur here; that maybe i0coin or some other fork; will be as big as bitcoin;

But if bitcoin dies; people will properly put less trust into digital currencies; and i would properly myself too.
For it to work out; people have to adopt it; and sadly
99.9% of people are not smart enough. If everyone in the world was super intelligent an idea; like this would take off.

Its a good idea; I love the idea of bitcoins; no need for centralized payment. And it has many advantages; instantly transferring world wide with no fees.  It is a really neat currency and it would be sad to see it die.

If only a billionaire came in and just bought up the price to $20; if only.

If the drug industry can get into this; only like 10% the price would be like $50 or so.

Maybe it will go up; i can't see the future; and no one here knows.
But it is a good concept; it would be sad to see it go. If it goes below $2 i will be like RIP bitcoins.

That sounds like a stable idea for a currency, hinge things on the drug industry being the savior.  Ask those northern Mexican border towns how that's working out for them. :)

The OP is hilarious: "Bitcoin is below 7 now. OMG it's the end of the world! If you want to dump your coins, give them to me, I could use them I GUESS [Really? You could use them? You mean like to sell them for well over $6 a piece? Wow, I never thought of that]. Oh, now bitcoin has been falling for the last few minutes, so you better sell now, won't ever get a better price. Because the trend of the last few minutes pretty much determines the trend forever. Oh...people are noticing how absurd my posts are, so let me backtrack a bit: When I suggested that you just give me your coins, I wasn't completely insisting on it, so that shows that my suggestion wasn't just a thinly disguised attempt to beg for coins [Yeah, right]. I just thought that since the price has gone below 7 you might want to randomly dump your coins somewhere [why on earth would anyone do that?], and if so, I'm just sayin I could use those coins I guess. Also, let me clarify that the price of bitcoins could go up or down from here, no one knows, myself included [Really? Thanks for the insight. But wait...if you admit that you have no idea where price is going from here, why did you start this thread in the first place?]."

Awesome news.  Someone just put a massive order in and bumped the price up to $7.  Trying to get all my bitcoins into MtGox before it falls below $5 again.

Dammit.  $6.02 and dropping.  Missed it.  Bitcoin is so damn slow for transferring money.  Whoever the idiot was that bumped the price up to $7 didn't stick around long enough.

What just happened?! BTC jumped from 5.x to 7.x and return. Now is trading at 5.x but by cents, there're no ask walls, you would need to go up to over 8 to see the first 1k+ ask.

Back to $7.  Ok, 30% swings within a few minutes are a joke.  Bitcoin really shouldn't be used for anything serious with markets like this.  Merchants must be craving this kind of price volatility.

Someone bought a huge amount of btc, big enough for prices to go up to 7$. Then, it fell down because the orders weren't moved up to this same level.

Right now someone put a buy wall at 7$, so it may stay there for a little while.

edit: and by the time I posted this, the order got removed. hm.

The guy(s) who hacked the forum probably cleaned out the mtgox accounts of the idiots who still use the same password on multiple sites.

Back down again to $6.  30-0.  Your serve.

Hoping the price spikes to $7 again as my bitcoins are almost at MtGox.  Come on....

I have a personal suspicion that it is going to crash down low again soon.  It's been stagnating while dwindling for over 60 hours so it is sure to happen.  All these people who bought it at 4.90 see it going lower and lower.  Pretty soon someone will realize it's not going back up till next year or later and will dump it knowing they can buy back cheaper.  Then the buywalls will drop and everyone will sell their coins.  It'll drop below $4.

The volatility was fun while it lasted.  I managed to sell into the hacked rally and get someone to pay almost $7 for bitcoins.  The move back below $5 was pretty obvious.  No positive news, no new products, not even new media hype.  There was no reason to pay more for bitcoins, therefore we're back below $5 again.  I don't expect the price to move higher a week from now.

But if anyone is feeling generous with other people's money, I have staggered Asks all the way up to $9  ;)
