The ANTMINER S1 Units are power competitive with offerings in the 28nm range, so they should perform well up until the difficulty is up to 300M. Being hosted in a professional data center gives the group buy owner the advantage of the best uptime and lowest ping times to the pools to reduce stale shares. If the majority of group buy owner agree, we will adjust the clocks to extract the maximum potential hashrate from the ANTMiner ASICs. This group buy is going into a temporary cabinet nearby where our cage is going to be built-out (to make it easier to relocate the miners).

Terms

Payouts will be paid weekly. After the first 30 days, monthly hosting fees of 149.99 per unit ($14.99 per share) will be assessed to the group buy. No additional management charges apply. The hosting charges will be deducted at the exchange-rate obtained by the group buy from a provider such as Coinbase. After 90 days of weekly hosting (120 days from start of mining), you may choose to pay your monthly fees in USD, so that you can keep the maximum amount of bitcoin that your hardware generates. If you own a multiple of 10x shares, you may choose to take physical possession of your hardware, after the initial 120 day period. NOC fee and shipping fee NTE $99 per unit apply. The group buy will be responsible for paying the hosting fees on the Neptune once it arrives, they are currently estimated at $599/mo, but we always strive to bring down the costs.  Actual charge will depend on the power characteristics of the Neptune.

You agree as a group buy owner to host your hardware with us for a total period of at least 120 days. If at any time thereafter the weekly earnings of the miners are insufficient to pay the hosting fees, the group buy owners shall make up the difference in USD. Non-payment of hosting fees/deficit will result in forfeiture of ownership rights to the hosted hardware. Any and all payments are due when invoiced; 30 days late constitutes default and will result in forfeiture of your fractional ownership. It depends on how many sell during the pre-sale to current owners only, there are 300 shares total; I am still growing my personal hashrate so will be retaining some here as well.

KNC says Q2, so April would be my guess.

In your other gb its $4.49 costs monthly per share. In this one its $14 per month after 30 days.

The last one was broken out weekly; this one actually has lower hosting costs, simply because our costs are going down as we scale up. There's a premium for being in a top tier data center; for me its worth the peace of mind knowing that our hardware is secured by a team of former Marines 24/7/365. We've done office spaces and were also looking at warehouses; physical security is a real threat when dealing with magic money printing machines.

But with the Group #2 Neptune hosting, what is the net effect to the monthly hosting costs?

We're looking at 12-18 cabs.  The third one should go into the cage right away, but if its' not ready we'll use a temp cab and move it too.  We're still negotiating the lease; hopefully we can get them down so I can pass lower prices on to everyone.

What happens if shares for this group buy are not all sold by 24/01? Any impact on current shareholders

We'll be underclocking them for the long-term game, and I'm sure the group will vote to liquidate before they become horribly unprofitable.  If you default on your obligations, then you lose your shares ~ sorry no partial default.  If you have 10, then physical delivery is good way to get out and still meet your obligations; and still collect on the Neptune.  A successful strategy involves careful reinvestment to continue to grow with the difficulty ~ there's a crap ton of less efficient hardware out there that will need to be turned off long before ours (Avalon/Avalon2, BFL 65nm, ASICminer, Clam, BTCGarden, etc).

We'll push for a refund if something terrible happens with KNC, but it's a pretty remote chance.  KNC is a company that keeps it's promises, which is why their hardware is in our group buys.  We choose to only deal with honest, ethical companies that do what they say they are going to do.  I've had plenty of bad experiences with other vendors; the product mix is picked from the best of the best.



We'll prorate shares that are bought after 24/01 (official hashing begins) to keep it fair for those that got in before the mine went live.  We've already purchased everything for Group #2, and almost everything now for Group #3 (we need to do some power supply tests today before we order those).

We have to limit now to only 280 shares. We're pulling 2 Ants (20) shares out of each group buy; when these things get "lucky" they pull a little more power and we are over our safe limit on power draw. 26 amps is the max safe limit for the allocated space. We're working on a solution for even more power density, hopefully we will be able to keep at 300 shares/ 30 ants.

Is there any possibly this policy could be amended. I am thinking worst case scenario were the Neptune does not arrive in time and ANTMINER S1 becomes unprofitable. In this situation we would forfeit our mining rights before we get a chance to mine with the Neptune(Resulting in only 18GH per share instead of 30GH) or choose to mine at a lose while waiting for the Neptune to arrive. Also, since we are already paying you separate mining fees for the ANTMINER S1 and Neptune this would not add much of a burden and will not take away from your finances. For me and other miners this would add addition peace of mind and would encourage addition purchasing of shares.

The ANTMINER is a good power efficient design; it's competitive with all the hardware that currently makes up the network.  The unlikely scenarios that you create with online calculators are flawed because you end up painting a picture where NO miner is profitable.  As a group buy owner you are responsible for your share of the space and power.  We can't selectively default on the cabinet that is holding them, so it's an equitable share of the risk.

Your numbers assume an unsustainable increase in the difficulty; the world simply doesn't have the capacity to sustain that type of growth. Also the only way it could possibly get to that high of a difficulty is if the price goes up at the same logarithmic rate. Your numbers have a smaller increase in the valuation. I have every expectation of ROI, but of course I can't promise it.

Looks like the minerstats page is down for GB #2 - rest seem to be working ok

We hit the pool's API which does error out occasionally. The miners are connected to a private pool server, so they stay up even when the API or BTC Guild website goes down.

Unfortunately this group buy is no longer operating with a profit and will be wound-up.

We are winding-up this group buy, as well as group buy #1, #3, and #4.

Process for taking delivery (if you have multiples of 10 shares):
PM me for an invoice for the $99 fee, and will reply with an email address for you to send the shipping labels to. You need to provide your own shipping labels.  I'll post the exact dimensions and weight in an update tomorrow.

If you pre-paid hosting, we will return your unused hosting payment at the bitstamp rate. Give us a couple of days to let the dust settle and we'll get it out.

If you have less than 10 shares or if you don't contact me for shipping arrangements; we are buying back the shares at .035 each. We will complete the buyback on May 1st for Group Buy #1 -Group Buy #4 so please get in touch before then.

Was the KNC Neptune added? And if we have have less then 10 shares all we can do is sell back at .035, stinks that we have to sell back at a lose.


What does this mean?

You have to pay him 99 dollars and he will send you an antminer provided you own 10 shares. It's certainly a cop out given the KNC hardware is profitable and you are basically forced into selling now

I only have 1 share in Group 2, so I guess I am stuck. Why not sell the ANT and keep the KNC and pull the hosting fees from the profits that are made from it?

It's not clear there will be any profits from the KNC is it?  All they have delivered so far is one (mostly) broken Franken-Jupiter, with no indication when either it will be fixed or the others shipped.  Nor what profitability will be like once hosting and power is paid.

I should say I no longer have any involvement as I sold my shares in GB1 and 3 a while back, but I would not be counting on profits from the KNC machines.

If you are short shares you can buy up to the 10 shares at the buy back price and take delivery.  If you take delivery (on Group #2 or Group #3) you will be included in the Neptune which we will continue to operate. Abandoning the hardware and leaving it to us to liquidate isn't meeting your commitment; taking delivery is.

I understand this is a lot of work, but the deal you are offering us is not fare either.

.035 btc x $440/btc= $15.4 per share

10 shares equal one ANTMiner S1 ($154). ANTMiner S1 are selling for ~ $300. So, we are getting roughly half the value of what are shares are currently worth. That is not taking into account the value of  KnC Neptune(which is valued on other open Group buys at 12 btc or $5000)( 12btc/300shares= 0.04btc per share)

So, we are either forced to sell our shares for well less than half their fare market value or we have too invest, in my case twice my original investment + $99 in shipping just to get a chance to mine with a piece of hardware (KnC Neptune) I already helped pay for.

With that in mind I don't think it is unreasonable to let the share holder choose to "give" are ANTMiners to you and you would be free to mine with them or sell them for your own profit and allow us to mine with the  KnC Neptune. or Offer the shareholders a more reasonable buyback price. .07 btc + .04 btc= .11btc per share ...  Now I am not asking for that much since I know with will take a lot of your time and efforts to sell this hardware. I am trying to make a point that .035 btc does not seem fare.

The buyback is based on an offer that we have on the table to take the remaining hardware in bulk, if we don't hurry it will get repriced.

If you want to just relinquish your Antminers and keep the FrankenJup, I would be ok with that. Send me a signed message from your dividend address to confirm.  I can't guarantee that it will ever earn more bitcoin than you would receive in the buyback.

Antminers are down to .55btc and falling. The redeem fee was structured into the original deal.  I have lost a TON of money already, trying to limit further losses.
