Title: BTC/ALT Wallet Stolen..Q1
Post by: Hash72 on January 18, 2014, 02:23:14 PM
Hi

if your wallet.dat has been stolen through torjan or any other means in the same time that wallet was encrypted with a superpassword is it possible for the hacker or thief control your BTC/ALT coins without knowing the password.

Thanks

If the wallet is encrypted (and no unencrypted backups exist), then an attacker needs both the wallet file and the password to access the coins. However, if a trojan was used to send the wallet file, it could also have captured the password by recording keystrokes that were made while unlocking the wallet.
