Title: [ANN] Aura Miner - Universal ASIC PCB Project - By Fibonacci Inc.
Post by: jasinlee on January 19, 2014, 05:29:51 AM
This is a crosspost from the litecoin forums, the users referenced are on there. https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=12567.0

Github: https://github.com/losh11/aura-asic

We will assist any users working on forks as best we can. It was intended to replace the klondike as a properly designed pcb....Although it is still in kicad. We are working to convert it to altium by February, at which point we can probably assist further.

If you would like to donate to our engineering teams time investment into this board send to the address in my signature.

I have sent out a copy to a few users, as we are a bit busy for now and our git is private we will have community members host the project on their git.

Current users that have expressed an interest are listed below and should post their git please once you have it uploaded.

Currently we have user Cheshyr converting the board from kicad to altium. 1CheshyrZsZ5X1XWW5EQUhGTExx6LTQBw4

We still need a user to convert it to Eagle, and someone that is willing to manage the master branch on git.

FEATURE SUGGESTIONS:

Ability to chain multiple devices together needing only 1 USB in/out to the mining host and optional hard boards to supply power to multiple boards from fewer power cables like the drill-bit mini-planes and double scrolls.

Probably, but I would have your engineer verify it before production obviously.

Has this board been routed?

I've got some downtime and could potentially start converting it to Eagle.

It has not been routed.

Has the circuit layout been completed and all component specification done?

Edit:  I'll install KiCAD and pull the Git when I get home.  Is there a BOM?  It's likely I'd have to create a good number of the components in Eagle and will need the BOM or a dump of the datasheets.

The designs I received had schematics and netlists in place, and some of the footprints in place.  Losh11 updated the design to include all the footprints, a couple 3D models, and a complete component placement.  I'm working to merge Losh11's updated into my existing work.  I have not validated any of the engineering aspects; I'm just taking the existing designs, and moving them to Altium for other people to use as a foundation to do their own engineering.  The BOM is hit and miss, there are only a couple datasheets, and there is no routing in place.

edit: My plan was to finish in the next week or two, but I am without power for what is likely the rest of the week due to the ice storm on the East Coast USA, so I won't be able to deliver as scheduled.  Will post when I can get it done.

Thanks for the update, I guess I'll see what's involved later tonight.  Sounds like there is a metric shit tonne of work left to do  :D

We left open what needed to be to make it easier to setup the pcb for various ASICs that come out. So maybe half a metric tonne.
