On current market situation we can see that btc on down trend. But if you compare other alt coin with Bitcoin, then you can see that alt coin are not much down trend. I think alt coin are waiting for Bitcoin movement. If Bitcoin not recover within next week, then alt coin will start follow Bitcoin. In my opinion if Bitcoin become below 7K then alt coin will follow Bitcoin on down trends. I think Bitcoin will not become less then 7K in this bearish trends. What you think ?

We can also conclude that bitcoin price is waiting for alt coins to recover. Whether one is very popular than the other, they are all intercomned as there is no abosukte way to separate them. If any news is happening to ban coins, its not limited to a particular coin but rather the whole crypto currency market and the same thing goes during the time of bull run, every coins just receive the boost ( at least for the coins that have some sizeable share of the market). Its not time to take sides in my option but combine effort to make us see some recovery.

It is true because the prices of the altcoins follow the price of bitcoin so if bitcoin moves, whether up or down, they will all move too and follow the direction which the price of bitcoin is taking. i think this is because all coins have trading pairs in bitcoin so if anything happens to the price of bitcoin, it happens to the prices of all of them

Not only because they have pairs with bitcoin. The fact that bitcoin is the genesis for blockchain effects the whole market. Let me try to visualize... bitcoin is gold of internet, right? Since it is a material, a golden crown would fluctuate in value when gold does. I don't know the name of this effect but I'm almost sure there is a name for that. Any economy students or experts that might give it a name?

Altcoins have already lost a ton of BTC value, most of them have dropped around 25% against btc the last few days. The reason for this I think is that people look at things in dollar and start selling when they lose their precious fiat value.

There is no reason I can see for an altcoin to lose BTC value if BTC is losing USD value apart from people selling when they lose USD.
In a bear market the best thing to hold is BTC, it always goes down the least.

Altcoins exactly are waiting for bitcoin but if you analyze the market, you can see some coins increasing despite bitcoin like 0x, I don't talk about trash coins with little market cap, 0x is very big coin and rising.

Random or really good news, most of those are extremely low volume coins anyways. As long as bitcoin has the most pairs, bitcoin will determine the price of other currencies, we have to start seeing exchanges accepting fiat for alt coins.

It's as simple as this. If you want to kill a thing, then you should stop feeding it. Most alts have BTC trade pair, except for few yet to list on popular exchanges presently listed on DEX. The moment they get the opportunity of listing on any other exchange aside some few DEXs the first trade pair would always be AltX/BTC.  So long as this continues to happen, the price of other alts will in a very  strong way be connected to how the BTC market fairs. Only in few occasions will this view of mine be contrary.

I think when regulations come in, a lot of exchanges will have usd pairs with anything. Ethereum has a lot of pairs too but I don't want ethereum to just take bitcoin's place and be the one influencing the whole market, I want a market where each coin grows or dies on it's own.

What affects altcoins most is the dollar price and not the coin price. So, if the dolllar price of a coin falls, definitely, altcoins will fall in price and vice versa. Although, this is not applicable to all altcoins.

Yes, it's interesting how almost all altcoins have to do with bitcoin's price moving up and down. They are almost always moving along. So if you can predict what bitcoin price is going to be in a few days, you can very well invest in some altcoins and make a profit alongside bitcoin, because they will most certainly move according to bitcoin.

Bullshit, almost all the prices are incredibly down because of bitcoin, they are not waiting for it, they are just trying to go up but with the actual market conditions, it seems to be something almost impossible to do.

First the was Bitcoin and every altcoin we have today took its cue directly or indirectly from Bitcoin and it is evidently so in the sense that they never make any significant move, up or down until Bitcoin leads the way.That aside, Bitcoin have got enviable and vast community and that's usually a huge voice and support for Bitcoin.

That is an impressive analysis. However I don't think bitcoin is responsible for the current steady movement of altcoins. I believe people have just learnt to hold their coins rather than sell off at the sniff of a downtrend.

Usually in the summer there is always a market decline, MT Gox has a whole bunch of Bitcoins for sale, I want bitcoin to grow, but it seems to me that we will see growth only next year or at the end of this year, before the grow we first have to experience fall in price, but for now the price is high, and I think bitcoin can fall below 7k.

I think the decline is bitcoin will still be continued. so of course altcoin must first be patient to be able to ride. only a portion of alt alone follows the bearish trend like this bitcoin. there may be some alt that do not follow the movement of bitcoin. the logic is like this, if all alt follow the bitcoin price movement, then there will be no alt which is rising or stable for now.

At this time, BTC still have much effect on the market, we can see BTC chart is exactly the same with the market cap,but no longer people will realize the true value of BTC and it will be replaced, i think so  ;)

There are many professional trader in my area have the predict that BTC will have the bottom around of $5k5 and the time will be on mid of July after that, BTC will increase and break down trend.

It was always like that, altcoins always follow bitcoin. They can overtake it in growth or drop stronger than bitcoin, but anyway, all cryptocurrencies repeat the movements of bitcoin. There are exceptions, but this is only for some good news on a particular coin.

This was posted a month ago predicating that btc will not go below 7k.

and here we are just recovering from it going down to $5800.

I remember last november when btc finally broke 5k, everyone saw it as a huge achievement and applauding each other.
There was this feeling of comraderie that btc has proven it's value.

Now, 8 months later, everyone is all doom and gloom.
I wonder if people's attitude will change or if it will take a major pump for people to change their view.

The volatility of btc is crazy, but I'm used to it.
Realistically, I will not hold on to it forever, but I do see one or two more bull runs ahead and am always positive.

Hopefully they might be correct and seeing btc rise again from dip. I may not to expect such huge fall reaching into $5k, but I may sure that it will make  some pumps mostly  probably x2 from the current price today. It is totally a big day for everyone.

Yeah, I also think that bitcoin can be a driver which are able to reverse the current bearish market tendency. Just imagine which hype will be around. People remember that BTC was 20000$ not so long ago. Much of new amateurs will want to make easy money with new a uptrend.
We need to catch the moment of begining a new uptrend to buy BTC on the lowest price.

I think you are talking about Ucash. I have noticed in the past time that when the bitcoin price decreased, Ucash increased a lot. We can wait for bitcoin and buy Ucash. Then wait for bitcoin prices to fall and sell Ucash to make a profit

I don't understand why you are saying that bitcoin is down more than other coins. I looked at the 7-day charts of btc, eth, bch and eos. They all look very alike to me with the main price fluctuations being the same. For example, they all had a significant price dip on the 24th of June. Then they want up to the price which was right before that dip and while btc, bch and eos were relatively stable with a light recent downward tendency, ethereum went down a bit more and faster. I don't think that altcoins are waiting. It all happens almost simultaneously. People here bad news about btc -> some start selling btc -> others panic that the market is dying and sell a lot for fiat and some for btc -> bitcoin's dominance increases.

Alts tend to fund Bitcoin runs and Bitcoin tends to fund alt runs. Given this relationship, Bitcoin price movements (or lack thereof) will always effect altcoin prices.

There is a big corellation between bitcoin prices and other alts, but it also depends on the cryptocurrencies capitalization. I think alts wait not only for the bitcoin growth, but for the capitalization increase.

 I support that believe that alternative cryptocurrencies are somehow bind with the price of Bitcoin, so when it is down all of them are following it. This is not logic but it is true.

Yes, that is the usual case wherein Altcoin will always follow the market trend of btc since they are correlated with the other. BTC and Altcoins are most likely directly proportional with each other, if btc goes up the same way to altcoins and vise versa. I believe that bitcoin is still in an uptrend. it seems not to fall the beginning of 2018, is more expensive than in 2017. accordingly, in this period, Altcoins can grow with varying success. I believe that many people forget about it, and that makes them less believe in the technology. While this is entirely their fault.

Unfortunately for us, Bitcoin keeps going down in price. It is presently at 6000 dollars, and with the recent market trend, it won't be surprising to see it go beyond that.
