Going to be adding a second power supply to my system next week. I was thinking about just using a paperclip or piece of wire to short the 2 wires. If I do this can I just leave it on all the time? Will it damage the GPUs that are hooked up to it if they have power and the motherboard does not? Thank you in advance Phad. You can turn the main PSU on/off without worry.

- connect one green and black pin in 24 pin plug in psu1 (not connected to mb) and run the psu - start psu2 from motherboard - profit. ? It can be harmful to your PSU if it runs with 0 load. And make sure the paperclip does not short circuit (maybe wrap it in some electric insulation tape).
