Title: When will miners be unable to mine DOGECOIN ?
Post by: catdoge1 on January 21, 2014, 07:16:41 AM
My question is simple....when will Dogecoins hit their cap? From what I understand, there can only be 100,000,000,000 ever mined. As of tonight, almost 32% of this amount is in the hands of many lucky shibes.

Im not too familiar with how these caps work for crypto currencies. Could we potentially see Dogecoins hit this cap in 2014?

As far as I know, as we continue to mine more blocks, eventually the doge these blocks yield will be halved which makes the cap so much harder to hit. I personally don't know how long it'll take to reach the cap, but the time it takes will increase exponentially with respect to difficulty and block reward.
