Post by: andhar on January 21, 2014, 09:18:05 AM
I was just wondering will this power supply: http://www.corsair.com/power-supply-units/ax-series-power-supply-units/ax1200i-digital-atx-power-supply-1200-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-fully-modular-psu.html

Be able to run 4 of these cards? : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127759

The only other power consuming stuff i will add in this rigg is a green hard drive : http://www.komplett.no/wd-desktop-green-1tb/745488

Ram: http://www.komplett.no/crucial-ddr3-ballistix-tactical-16gb/752765

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103888

Everything will be built in an aluminium rack, home built.

I don't know since I do not own them. My guess is probably 700+KHs a card undervolted if it is configured properly.

Undervolting as mentioned above is a must.

280x's get near 300w in a hurry @ stock volts of 1.2v.  The 7970 GHZ Ed @ 1.256v was a bonafied 300w card.

To accomplish putting 4 of those 280x's on that 1200w unit, you would most likely need to get volts down to 1.1 or under.
