Book ICO

Nomadic Matt’s campaign landing page was launched on May 23 and the Initial Book Coin Offering will open on June 6th at 6 am PST. One Book token will represent and grant access to one digital copy of the book and will cost 10.00 USD.


Only 1,000 Book tokens will be available during the Book ICO. Readers will contribute using PBL tokens (the Publica platform's native currency) and then read the book in Publica’s e-reader app (serving double-duty as an e-reader and cryptocurrency wallet).

Participants can buy an unlimited number of book tokens and trade them or gift them to friends, since every Book token is an Ethereum ERC20 token.

Matthew Kepnes runs the award winning budget travel site - nomadicmatt.com. After a trip to Thailand in 2005, Matthew decided to quit his job, finish his MBA and head off into the world. His original trip was supposed to last a year. Over seven years later, he is still out exploring and roaming the world. He’s scuba dived in Fiji, was a poker player in Amsterdam, taught English in Thailand, got lost in a jungle in Central America, and broke down in the middle of Australia’s outback.

There is wallet-reader app, that lets you read a book if you store a book’s token on your wallet. It serves as a cryptographic access key to the book file. So, books become ownable and readable on the blockchain!
