I like primecoin, but mining is near pointless. LTC is faster than BTC but slow compared to almost all new coins. Almost all new coins are scams, rubbish or gimmicks. We will see if someone comes up with something that could rival BTC. If they do it will be clones 1000 times, so maybe they shouldn't make it open source too quickly. I think I am on the same page with you. WorldCoin is a such coin that can challenge BTC. Scharmbeck is doing well as far as I heard, it will be a game-changer and it will be possible for shops to easily accept WDC thanks to Scharmbeck. The developers predict the coin will be valued to its fair value (0.077 BTC) so anyone investing the coin now any significiant amount will be a millionaire if not billionaire within some time.
