CoinTerra will give an extra mining rig "First Batch order for one TerraMiner IV 2TH Bitcoin miner you will receive your miner in January and you will also receive a TerraMiner IV 2TH Bitcoin miner in March"

Dear CoinTerra customer,

As a First Batch customer with an order for one or more TerraMiners initially scheduled for a late-December delivery we are reaching out to you since you are one of the remaining customers that we have been unsuccessful in contacting by telephone via the number associated with your cointerra.com account.

We are pleased to say that we are now very close to manufacturing our first units, but if you have been following our engineering updates on our website you may be aware that our late-December orders have slipped into the New Year.

Your order will enter manufacturing shortly, and will be one of the very first TerraMiners to leave our production facility - we currently expect your order to ship in the first two weeks of January.

As a thank you for being an early customer and supporting us as we worked to bring the TerraMiner to market, for each TerraMiner that you have ordered in the First Batch we would also like to send you an additional TerraMiner of equal hash rate from our March batch free of charge (including free shipping.)  This means that if you have a First Batch order for one TerraMiner IV 2TH Bitcoin miner you will receive your miner in January and you will also receive a TerraMiner IV 2TH Bitcoin miner in March.
We will send a confirmation of your order, updated to include the additional free of charge TerraMiner within 24 hours.  However, if you would prefer to receive a full refund of your order purchase price in USD instead of taking us up on the offer, or if you have any further questions regarding your order then please can contact us at [redacted] and we will be happy to accommodate you.

Best regards and a Happy New Year!
Everyone at the CoinTerra Team

NICE!

I'm happy with delays from everyone! Makes our current miners more valuable. My KNC jup just ROId this week. good feeling to be brining in pure profit. Another month of mining and my mining ROI overall might actually turn positive! Which is crazy considering how negative I was only a few months ago.

KNC might turn into another BFL.   BFL produced FPGA rigs etc and then totally derped with their ASICs.  KNC produced 28mm jupiters without too much of a delay and now neptunes are nowhere to be seen.

What a ridiculous, pointless thread!

If you have been following either of the two companies even just a little bit you'd know that Cointerra TerraMiners release is imminent.  And the Monarchs are still months away.

BFL has no working ASIC chip or prototype unlike Cointerra who has entered production phase. Game Over.

UPDATE: Prototype Testing Completed, Certification and Production this week (http://cointerra.com/update-prototype-testing-completed-certification-production-week/)

 Cointerra Video Proof  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OS0HOgd7AmI)

I would listen to BFL's own recommendation on their site:

"...do NOT pre-order this product... - BFL" (https://products.butterflylabs.com/600-gh-bitcoin-mining-card.html)

Quote
Shipping Schedule

#1 This is a Pre-Order product which is not yet shipping.

#2 If you're uncomfortable waiting until the development is complete and the product is shipped, do NOT pre-order this product.

#3 Perhaps undesirable, but this is a pre-order market.

#4 Customers flatly demand to get in line for the new technology before it's finished development.

#5 This has created a lot of drama for the manufacturers but it's something we simply have to deal with.

#6 All manufacturers in this space have experienced some degree of delay with their first generation ASIC.

#7 Every last one of them, so we're reluctant to give a specific delivery date.

#8 However, this is our second generation, so we have much greater clarity on the process and plan to begin shipments in January 2014.

#9 Orders are shipped in order date priority so any order placed now should be expected to be delivered in March.

Let us break it down line by line.

#1 They are not shipping.

#2 This is a pre-order product still being developed of an unproven and completely NEW design compared to their last product.

#3 Bold face lie. You can purchase from AntMiner directly for the past 30 days or more.

#4 That is a lie most of us want off the shelf products and thankfully we have alternatives and there will be more.

#5 BFL has created it's own "drama" making outrageous claims for shipping and performance on all their products and then failing to deliver either on time or to spec based on their own statements.

#6 BFL has experience the WORST delays in their ASICs 13 months deliver for some 65nm and already 3 months late on their Monarch.

#7 BFL is reluctant because they have done so in the past and have been a year late on some estimates and already 3 months late on their Monarch.

#8  "...plan to begin shipments in January 2014."  (https://products.butterflylabs.com/600-gh-bitcoin-mining-card.html) Pure BFL Bullshit. They do not even have a working chip. No way can they state January shipping. Impossible and didn't they just state they won't give specific estimates? I think end of January is pretty much a 1 week window at end of that month right and you keep leading people on? ROFL scam.

#9 They will be lucky to get a working prototype by March don't expect to get an order made today until Q3 or Q4. The January estimate has been moved 2x now. From October to October/November to December/January. At this stage in their development these miners will likely need at least 2 to 3 months more work given what all the other fabricators have done to get to a working production run level. BFL is no where near Cointerra. Game Over.

NOT a good update ~ looks like BFL could come back from the first round lost!

Cointerra update:

ATELINE 1/24/2014

Today we wanted to communicate our plans as we move from pre-production into production. As soon as the FCC/CE/UL certification process is completed we will be able to commence shipping the very first production TerraMiners and incrementally ramp up to volume capacity over the coming days.

On the hardware front, we have implemented circuit board modifications which have improved the efficiency of the power conversion circuitry from the time of our initial board bringup and we have revised the firmware on the BeagleBone Black controller card to take advantage of this.

Having achieved a good level of stability and based on feedback from our customers, we have decided to push the button to release our first production TerraMiners IV’s.

Our production lines are assembling units and we have submitted for certification simultaneously. The production units that we have assembled and tested so far are running at between 1.63TH/s and 1.72TH/s with power draw at the wall between 1900W and 2100W – typically 20% higher than our anticipated target of 1650W but still sufficient to operate in a typical US home (110V) plugged into two outlets on separate 15A circuits, or in a typical European home (230V) on a single circuit.

The first-batch of TerraMiner IV units shipping to customers
•Is easily the most powerful high-performance Bitcoin miner available today. It smashes the 1TH/s barrier by a huge margin
•Is the lowest cost per gigahash of any Bitcoin mining rig on the market
•Achieves the highest density of Bitcoin hashing power in its compact 4U enclosure

We will continue tweaking the firmware and any updates will be posted to the CoinTerra website.

Additionally, we have begun a board redesign which will enter production when fully tested and approved. It is anticipated that the board revision will offer further hardware optimizations and power efficiencies and based on the initial simulations it will permit us to hit our initial performance target of 2TH/s.

We expect to post the next update as soon as we’ve received certification early next week and begin delivery.

lol... 400THs, causes massive brain tumors and turns-on microwaves across state borders... FCC night not like anything over 1THs, without lead shielding and pace-maker warnings! :P

FCC: This device must not cause interference with other devices, and must accept all interference from other electronic devices. (EG, It can't cause an electronic device jammer to fail, and must fail if a jammer device is used to stop it.)

Such useless regulations. Defeated by simple shielding. Aiding to EMF exposure, just so that if the govt wants to "disable you", they can... Why is that cold-war law still even enforced?

Not about first to 28nm. It was first to get their miners shipped.

BFL fail.

---

Do another one Asicminer 40nm vs BFL 28nm. See who has the cheaper $ Gh/s and ships chips / miners before the end of March.
