I'm looking for folks to help set up the categories for http://mastercointalk.org/  and do other moderator/admin type stuff to make sure the forum operates well and is to people's liking.  And recommend modifications/mods.

First people (up to 10) to get promoted to a Global Mod and actually create at least one category will split $100 in Mastercoins/MSC.  If you create some b/s category you get disqualified (i.e., don't create a a category for why dogecoin is better than peercoin, ripple, ethereum, nxt and bitcoin).

SMF DESIGN THEME

The person or group who proposes the top 2 SMF designs to be used (see http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/) will split the next $100 in MSC.

How do you win?  You get the most votes, likes, whatever.  You can use reddit, fb, bitcointalk voting, manual thread voting on bitcointalk or mastercointalk or the dogecoin reddit, the sky's the limit.  

Voting will end on 01/29 at midnight GMT, post a screenshot and links to your votes here; and totals here.  The top 2 win.

So this one is really simple: refer the most sign ups by the end of the month and you or your group gets $100 in MSC of course.  There is a community of Mastercoiners on bitcointalk, reddit, google, fb, etc.  Low hanging fruit for you to sign up.

You can use your referral link like this one below, and if you are working in a group/swarm you can add them all together to win, and distribute the $100 in MSC to your groupies. Pick a lead.

Regarding the forum theme, is the bounty for suggesting the default theme, or the themes included for the user to choose from?

Edit: The default themes kinda suck right now... This (http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=1675) or this (http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=1320) is what I would use if I had the option to.

No, you can't change the background color. We can try this theme and try to edit some colors if possible.
If that didnt work we can change to a different theme, up to you :)

I would recommend maybe easing down on the amount of categories/forums. The more forums and categories, the more empty the forum will look in the beginning and can stunt growth by an extreme amount.

For now maybe combining all language forums into one, and keeping the languages as sub-forums would look better. For example, instead of

Other forums could be merged as well such as General talk and press.

Don't try to emulate/copy Bitcointalk when it comes to categories. Bitcointalk has filled all of their categories with a more-than-adequate amount of posts.

I will look into signing up on the website once I have the time.

I have been on and have created plugins for both SMF (Simple Machines Forum and MyBB) and have prior experience with both. I'll be happy to answer any questions about plugin permissions and if something is possible with a SMF plugin.

I have a suggestion for a theme, well actually for a software. Why not just use smf 1.1.9? It will look almost exactly like btctalk which will make it easy for people to understand if they both use the forums.

Newer software provides the forum with New features.  If I'm right the theme of bitcointalk.org can be used on both updates. But in my point of view its better not to copy everything from this forum.

Also the newest versions have some serious bugs/exploits fixed.

yes we are def not going to use the old version, the look is close enough for anyone to figure out.  it was already a compromise to use SMF 2.x ;)

Just to make things clear, 1.1.9 themes are not compatible with 2.x. Personally I would take 1.1.9 over 2.x any day. Sometimes more features isn't better.

We keep 2.x IMO.

the $300 is paid out on btcusd terms of the prior days 3day btc average (from bitstamp), which should be done by the foundation accountant at the end of this month.

the dev MSC part is calculated later and will be done after March 15.

please note that your involvement on mastercointalk.org as moderators qualifies for getting a piece of the general innovation bounty...

so i would like if one or two of you would take the lead on the other moderators, and also have your our section maybe in the Meta section where at the end of each month we have a thread we can look at where you have noted some stuff you have done (added new sections, deleted or consolidated posts, etc)

also if someone can recommend a statistics package and posts forum stats once a week, that would be helpful and of course the work would be recognized in that bounty.

keep in mind that this is not an hourly or full time thing, so if you come to me and say that you spent 200 hours moderating the forums with 100 users... you will not get paid more  ;D

I made an error in later posts about the payments forgetting that they should only be made in MSC, please refer to the original post, which meant to pay people in MSC not BTC, and there was no promise of dev MSC.

If you wish to get MSC instead of the BTC you received, you can send back the current amount in $, and the foundation can send you MSC, as the original contract stated. Or you can use the BTC we sent you to buy the MSC you were supposed to get.
