Title: Re: Protect your privacy online with vpnme.org bitcoin friendly since 2012 Post by: VPNme on January 23, 2014, 08:47:18 PM Nice design and all but what are your differences from HMA ? act now, What makes VPNme.com different from HMA? 1.) We actually do not log, unlike HMA. http://www.itworld.com/security/206429/who-trust-your-secrets-some-vpn-anonymity-providers-sound-noble-others-are-just-icky 2.) HMA being a UK company is REQUIRED BY LAW TO LOG under the Data Retention Directive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Retention_Directive 2a.) VPNme as a US company is not required to keep any logs. As such we have NONE to turn over when a subpoena comes in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecommunications_data_retention#United_States 3.) We do not use SHARED keys or certificates. Every user is generated a unique key or certificate. HMA uses a Preshared Key for Authentication. EVERYONE uses the same Key. EX: http://wiki.hidemyass.com/Tutorials:Windows_L2TP_connection_setup I'll quote the text for you "Use Preshared Key for authentication > Key: HideMyAss" So in a brief summary if you are using a VPN for privacy I would say that VPNme takes your privacy more seriously. If you just need a VPN to unblock websites then HMA is fine. All you need for an account with us is a bitcoin payment and an email address(if you want to be able to reset your password and get account notices). VPNme |
