Hi mate in this case replace your backup wallet with new wallet !!

you can find new wallet here -->> Type in run command -> %appdata%

and you can find your coin folder and inside it you can see new wallet, replace it with backup wallet

By importing your wallet's secret key in the client.

I tried coping the wallet.dat file over the old one and that did not work.

So I need to wallet backup and a secret key?

Don't you remember your wallet's secret key or did you not save it somewhere else from where you can fetch in the hour of emergency ?

Example of a private/secret key -

replacing the wallet.dat with the backup should work, as long as you call it wallet.dat, and no other names.. Did you wait until the sync was complete?

I tried coping the wallet.dat file over the old one and that did not work. I also backed up the whole appdata folder so I had all of the wallet and the other data and I tired copy all of that and that did not work.

I figured it out.

For the 42 coins this worked.

I opened a command line window then type in '42-qt.exe -datadir='c:\location of wallet' -rescan

and that restore my wallet address and all of the coins. Yeah!

Now I just need to do that to those other wallets.

So, Now I got something weird going on. If I open the wallet at the command line with the -rescan it shows all of the coins and I can send them to another address like an exchange. When I just double click on the wallet it opens with a different receive address and shows no coins. It does the same when I delete the block block chain and it reload/resync.

So I guess I'm going to open the wallet at the command line (old wallet address) and sent some coins to the new address and see if they appear.

or

I'm going to try and get the secret key and try to import it like that but I'm not sure how to get the secret key.

Thanks for the help

Ok. So I had a dumb ass attack.

I see my mistake. I put them in the 'C:\Users\User Name\AppData' folder and not the 'C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming' folder.

All is good now.
