50 billion coins pre mined - dont waste your hashing power

whoa..

edit; this is getting close. what are the infos.

how many coins in a block
how much have you premined
what is the blocks re target difficulty
is this a coingen
do you have any actual coding experience ? the whole " i was bet to do it" seems immature. Reminds me of that "i lost my virginity , but i was too drunk to remember" line

Can you give like a 12 hour announcement for when the coin is actually going to come out.

Fair starts that are good, are the best starts.

looks kawai

What does kawai mean? Can you please provide an English translation for any words you use that are not English? Thanks. What about the rumor that this is a Chinese coin? I would be interested to know the nationality of the coder. Not that there is anything wrong with a Chinese coin. A rough translation (really just a guess) of "ninten" in Chinese would be "y'all special" because nin = "you all" and ten = "special". Also, wondering why the Chinese company "tencent" is named what it is. Also, I'd just like to point out that pigs are notoriously cute in China.

This.

Seem like a good idea to me. Announce that the coin will be randomly launched between Feb 1st and Feb 7th, and when it is launched the announcement will be made here, in this thread. Also, make the block reward start out small and slowly increase (over the first week?) until it reaches its "natural" level. That should make for a smoother launch, I would think.

Also, I'd like to say: cute pigs, but totally ugly moustache. I totally hate moustaches. Go with the pigs, get rid of the child molester.

I don't know. As soon as the launch is announced farmers will come anyway so you move the problem rather than solve it. To be honest I have no useful suggestions how to tackle this. Maybe exclude solomining from the coin and cap pool registration to 500kh/s per user. It may demotivate big farmers to register 100+ accounts, but then again i seen that documentary about chinese kids statpadding WoW characters so yea, I don't know...

I say no relaunch. It is a level playing field for everyone, you can mine with the wallet.

Difficulty is still low and blocks are not moving too quickly:

    "blocks" : 277,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 0.00212290,

    "hashespersec" : 9783,
    "networkhashps" : 135868,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "testnet" : false

if the wallet is not sync'd all those mined coins will just disappear when you do sync.  Just fooling yourself.

Yeah, well if the chain is not right, then it should be relaunched. But if we are all on the right chain (which we seem to be so far), then it is fair game for everyone.

I managed to sync without issue, but RPC is a problem.

According to the source (and daemon help) 63115 is the RPC port for main, 64115 is the RPC port for testnet

However, the client has bound to 64115 (which is apparently testnet) and seems to be refusing RPC requests from external IPs.

Well atleast we got a new concept. A smileys instead of a letter (BTC, LTC) or number (42).

I hope a better dev make a similar coin like this. Instead of smiley, make a dragon face.

50% premine? Are we being trolled super hard or is the OP really that stupid?

I'm still intrigued by the fact that the client is using the testnet RPC port, but seems to be using the mainnet p2p port.

I dumped the interface and managed to capture the text reason of why RPC is being ignored:

{"result":null,"error":{"code":-10,"message":"Nintencoin is downloading blocks..."},"id":0}

According to my client the last block was generated 31 seconds ago. What else is there to download?

No probs, yeah 50% premine is insane.
The ironic thing is that they could have mined a few blocks with the wallet when everyone couldn't connect their cards, then release an update and most would be happy.
No premine and the dev has a few blocks.

I think this is the reason the client is eternally stuck in "not done yet" mode... looks like the dev forgot to delete checkpoints from the source he copied! Or can see into the future.

Does this mean the clients are going to start dropping off when we hit block 1500, and the hash doesn't match the checkpoint?

Edit: These are Litecoin checkpoints.

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://127.0.0.1:9301 -u mypcusername -p 123  --worksize 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 2 --intensity 12 -Q 0

ive taken out the user name.

does this look right, when i start the miner it just opens up sits their for a while then closes. could some one please help im so fed up of trying to mine a coin at launch and failing.

edit : i had the wrong port because i copied it from a solo mining guide. so ive changed it to 63115

When it was announced I really though this coin had potential... Dev had to go get greedy and premined 50%... Absolutely no excuse for that much... .5%/ 1% maybe... definitely not 50%
Now its dead before it started...  and almost a bigger scam than Coinye...

Back to Doge... the one that won't screw you...

Dev premines 50% of all coins then tries to say hes going to give them all away.
not even a warning before doing it. What an amateur.

There is no way to fairly give them all away.

Even if 2000 people ask for coins:
Each person would get 25,000,000 coins.

How is that fair to the people that have to mine them?

Lets say you keep half of the premine for bounties or giveaways (none of which are actually required for the success of a coin), you would still need to give away coins to 2000 people. That's a hell of a lot of work and still each person would get 12,500,000 coins! Keep in mind that even the NEM project has only 1400 subscribes and that thread is 90 pages long AND those users had to PAY to get in.
You will be lucky if you get 200 people asking for these coins. Which means you would have to give away 250,000,000 per person? Ya right.

Regardless of what you do, if you give them away you've made it pointless to mine them. If you keep them you're a scammer and youre coin is dead.

The only thing you can do is burn all of the coins except for 1%

If you burn them, the max coin supply decreases by 50% and everyone is happy.
If everyone is in favor of the dev burning those coins, tell him so.

Good suggestion. This seems to be the only way to 'fix' the ridiculous premine without restarting the chain. Mined coins are virtually worthless when such a huge amount (equivalent to the entire supply of all future mined coins - mind boggling!) can be dumped by the dev at will.

FWIW, here's the difficulty changes so far (retargets every 60 blocks) :

Hi,

People on the bitcointalk forum in your [ANN] thread are waiting on a response indicating if you will delete the 50% premine.  It would be good if you would go and respond to that because the coin has zero chance of ever being traded if the premine isn't purged down to < 1%.

Also, I don't know if you've considered this, but if that premine doesn't get purged by you, you can bank on one of the community who supported the launch taking over the coin and hard forking you out altogether; and everyone who invested hashes in the coin's launch will support them.

If I were you I'd purge the premine and retain control of the blockchain before someone helps you out of it.

Just my 2c. You can take it or leave it.

Take care.

Here's hoping.

This coin reminde me ElectricCoin (Volt). Even its developer was not mining it  ;D Hashrate was about 10mh top.

then someday people realised it, coin listed on a new exchange and it is now about 20 satoshi  ;D People started to say how great coin is this bla bla.

I think every coin has its time, we should mine at least 10m and put our wallets. There is nothing to lose  ;)

Quick warning. I compiled the newer version from source, and it appears to have CPU mining enabled by default. I had to set gen=0 in the conf to get nintencoind to stop taking 380%+ of my CPU (nearly all of the 4 cores)

I don't know if this is a genuine mistake or an attempt by the dev to try to keep network hash rates up. I mined a little earlier with only 1.4MH/s and out of around 100 network blocks I won 80% of them.

The coin was relaunched, but I think the dev would rather pretend this particular thread doesn't exist.

I don't think it's going anywhere fast. Looks like I found about 90 blocks before I realised the new client was CPU mining and disabled it. This time I was able to win 95%+ of network blocks.......with a CPU.

I don't think it ever really took off. I mined this at a few different times with a modest 1-2MH/s and over each period I was winning the large majority of blocks. This is probably why CPU mining was quietly enabled by default in the last version, to try to get network hashes up. At one point I had to mine just to confirm my deposit to the exchange, because the network was not moving at all.

It is good that there was an exchange - many coins wouldn't even get to this point - but it was confusing the way it was set up. I opened some random orders and a few ended up executing, but it was literally peanuts worth. Perhaps with some better marketing there could be more volume, but if the exchange stays down then this coin is really no different to any other fledgling shitcoin.

Here are the last 200 blocks from my POV. I stopped the client on May 16th, then restarted it today, but at the moment it is unable to connect to any working peers.

Note that 0.00024414 is the minimum difficulty; hash rate is low enough that the network is not trying to retard minting.
