Title: Log-in with TREZOR
Post by: Rath_ on May 27, 2018, 11:14:43 AM
It's been quite a long time since TREZOR released their Connect API. It could become an alternative way of logging in for people who own a TREZOR device. People are more likely to use a weak password than expose their seed with additional passphrase.

You can find more information about it in the link below.

This would be cool. They could also add support for Ledger's Fido U2F.

However, I'm not even sure if they are going to release epochtalk anymore. The development seems stagnated.

Very interesting idea!

I'm not sure what Theymos think about it, but it's not that easy as it may looks like.
Also even if it's possible it doesn't solve the weak passwords issue.
I.e. I'm using Bitcointalk on all of my devices and sometimes it's just faster to type my passphrase than login with Trezor.
So, people won't stop using weak passwords anyway.

BTW. Stop using passwords! Use passphrase. Easier to remember, easier to type.
And use different passphrase every time you create an account anywhere.
Bruteforce is not a main problem now. Passwords are stolen from databases and shared over the Internet.

Best wishes.

Be careful when using the TREZOR cryptocurrency website, hackers are more likely to conduct phishing attacks, the company wrote on its blog:

Your link is broken.

Here is the working one: https://blog.trezor.io/psa-phishing-alert-fake-trezor-wallet-website-3bcfdfc3eced

Also, this thread is more about implementing Trezor's API on the forum rather than the hardware wallet itself.
