Title: [OPINION] If I buy an item from User A and it gets lost in the mail...
Post by: killyou73 on May 27, 2018, 08:42:59 PM
If I buy an item from User A and it gets lost in the mail, do I still owe User A the BTC for purchasing the item?

The answer is NO, correct?

Let's say the item in question, is being shipped USA to USA  priority mail.

Usually, you would tend to split the cost of the items between you since you both directly lost out.
Since it's not directly your fault, then you don't have a direct obligation to do so. Although, it is probably what a decent person would do.

So than you would say purchasing insurance actually insures the seller not the buyer

Think about it - these kind of transactions must be very common in international trade.
That is why transactions are governed by Incoterms. The title of goods and the risks at each stage are documented right at the initiation of the transaction.

In the above transaction, my opinion is that you would not be liable.
