Title: How seriously should we take standardized test?

Your future should not be based on a couple standardized test it should be based on what you make year round.

You might say this is true but at the same time you can't base results on subjective teachings 'year-round'. Standardized tests are just that: standardized. Objective and unwavering.

Assuming we're talking about an academic setting, admittance based on standardized tests seems far fairer than admittance based on grades from different schools with different teaching methods and grading styles.

Sure, some can't handle testing environments well. But that doesn't mean you should subject all potential students (who may be objectively better than others) to some other method that may allow undeserving ones to get by (i.e. schools that artificially increase/inflate marks).

I agree. Standardization test can not show all your capabilities. Let it not an ideal way, but it is better not invented yet.
In addition, if you are above average, then this test is not a problem for you. It's just another of many formalities. Do not pay too much attention to this.
