Hi guys,

We are addressing a problem facing South Africans using blockchain technology, and to gain scope on the viability of the solution. Kindly give a shout back so we can gain some scope of how many South African users are using Bitcoin Forum!

Who really want to segregate here? Whether South African or American. In a decentralized world there is no segregation because it negate the core principle of oneness which the blockchain technology is all about. Many people wants to be anonymous in all their dealings in the forum which give them a sense of security and safety of their wealth. Anyway i am not trying to discourage you in your research findings. Cheers!

The problem is segregation!! There is yet to open viable ways for South Africans to participate in the blockchain ecosystem at large and that is exactly what we are aiming to fulfill   :o

I do not know why, but I think that very few people in that region understand how the crypto currency works. I will be very happy if I'm wrong. Give then pls statistics.

This is correct as well, a relatively small percentage of people in this region is active.

Volume stats from the exchanges (luno and altcoin trader) places us at about $6 million per day. The other exchange ICE3X lacks stats though...

So accessibility and awareness are both problems from our location. Accessibility because active participants can only buy directly into BTC and its forks, ETH, LTC, DASH, Ripple...

Awareness because there is lack of exposure in terms of media, billboards, expo's etc

The proposed solution is in the accessible realm, we are also thinking of awareness campaigns

I don't know why, however I feel that not very many individuals in that area see how the cryptographic money functions. I will be exceptionally cheerful in case I'm off-base. Give then pls insights.

Is this really necessary here, there are some big SOuth Africans developers in the space and also investors, so I believe blockchain as a foot hold in your country, Monero developers and Civil investor can't spell their names correctly but I think you people understand. Go to your local thread if you want to do this not here

Your welcome.

Creating a poll can also help you on this research but I don't know if many will participate on it as most are lazy to click the button in the poll.

AUGMENTORS https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1757817.0  is build from South Africa.
Also I think Tari  https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/8lgvw4/introducing_tari_a_decentralised_assets_protocol/  will be build out of South Africa.
we have also formed Tari Labs based out of Johannesburg, South Africa, and we are in the process of hiring researchers, developers, and others, who will be among the first contributors to Tari.
Yup!
