Im new to mining, and I've started mining with my Lenovo laptop and my "home built" AMD PC. I registered on the slush pool, but I dont think my setup is quite right. Can you please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? Pictures below; http://imgur.com/CNNB03S,p6QZ1uq http://imgur.com/CNNB03S,p6QZ1uq#1 Question 2: Does 1 worker have to be 1pcs of hardware? So that 1 worker is one PC, and another PC is 1 worker? Or can one worker be 1 hardware (antminer, BFL product example), so that you can have many workers on only 1 PC? Question 3: What do you advice me to purchase as I am new to mining? I'm currently considering the: Bitcoin miner 7.8 GH/s BFL Jalapeno fra Butterfly Labs Is that a good option for me? If you want to do it as an hobby it's ok, but how much money are you considering to spend on mining equipment? Title: Re: New miner needs help! I want to make a profit, and I am willing to spend what it takes, but a price range of 1000-2000 dollars? Of course it's not half as fun but financially wise it's almost certain it's the best bet. Title: Re: New miner needs help! But say If I really wanted to mine, and I bought GH with hosted mining contracts? I then buy 1000GH/s for 10k. Any calculations on how this will turn out for a year? If your talking about bitcoins, most calculation isnt specific based on daily difficulties and other elements of price flux. But just to give you an idea, 1,000 ghs for 10k is a bit pricey. As for a future calculation, is a little bit hard given the dif changes and btc price changes. Title: Re: New miner needs help!
