Title: Mining and staking at the same time?
Post by: guy369 on May 28, 2018, 11:56:02 PM
Sorry if this has been asked, I recently completed and got my miner online

6 GPUs mining ETH

Can I also leave a core wallet on open on my system while it mines to stake other coins (non eth)?

Thanks in advance!

Sure if you have enough cpu and ram , should be no problem !

6 x rx570
4 gb RAM

Currently getting 160 mh/s, stable.

Curious if I should even bother messing with a good result or not

It is definitely possible and is probably a good way to maximize the efficiency of your mining rig.

I for one am currently mining POW coins with 13-GPUs, HDD mining with 8TB on BurstCoin, then staking some shitcoins (OPCX and COLX) that have potential to grow. I'm doing all this also on 4GB of RAM and a simple Pentium G4560 CPU. Once i save enough i'll probably set up some masternode coin as well.

Of course, as long as your system (RAM, Processor) is compability with the coins you want to be mined in stake coin.

Hi mate, of course your rig could do both mining and staking at the same time. Actually staking doesnt consume much power and use not that much resources.
All of my GPUs rigs just use Intel G3930 cpu, a very cheap CPU, and it's enough to stake. As I checked, during the staking period, the CPU usage get peak at just 83% and physical memory usage is about 56%.
I think we could even use raspberry pi to perform this.

I have been doing this since early february and from my personal experience I can share the following : that's just the best way to be involved in the crypto-business mate!
Sometimes I have even tried with 2 open wallets for different currencies and never had a problem with the rig, except for the slow cursor movement, but that's mainly an issue due to the high intensity of the cards, that they are set on!
Wish you profitable mining and staking!
