Q: What will you do if someone develops an asic computer for Lyra2REv2?
A: We will look to adjust the algorithm settings to keep the coin asic resistant.

Q: Why do you have a pre-mine and what will it be used for?
A: Part of it is for profit. Without a profit for the founders, there would be no motivation for us to keep working on the coin and increasing its value. We will pay wages, pay for the mining pool, website hosting, promotions, computer hardware, payments to get Hanacoin listed on exchanges, press releases, office space the list goes on. There are a lot of costs involved in making the coin a success. You will notice that Hanacoin is not like a traditional mineable coin. We will have a very heavy focus on marketing to everyday people, we are not targeting people who are already in the crypto space. We will be sponsoring athletes, gamers, and musicians.

Q: Who will you be marketing this coin to?
A: Hanacoin will be marketed to young adults.

Q: How many coins will be donated to charity each year?
A: One of Hanacoin's founders, Soo Yeon, has been supporting a Korean charity for more than 10 years personally. We do not want to name the charity that we will donate to until the coin is up and running and the charity accepts our donations. Initially, we will donate Hanacoin to our chosen charity if they accept the payment and we hope to form a long-lasting relationship with them. If the North and South Korea form closer ties, we would like to support the impoverished North Koreans.

Q: How quickly will Hanacoin grow?
A: If you are looking for a coin to reach the moon in a few months then Hanacoin is not the coin for you. We are aiming for steady, long-term growth of Hanacoin. We will be focusing on marketing and promoting the coin to gain widespread adoption and as the coin is adopted, it will grow in value.

Q: Which Exchanges will you be listed on?
A: The goal is to be listed on Korean exchanges which is difficult because Korean exchanges usually do not list a lot of coins so we will be in contact with a number of other Asian and Western exchanges and grow before we attempt to list on Korean exchanges. We will list on an exchange once we feel that there is enough demand for Hanacoin to do so.

Q: Are you looking for any help?
A: Yes, we absolutely need to grow our community and we would love any help that you could provide. Please support us and we will do our best to be a standout coin for all the right reasons.

Q: Who is running your mining Pool?
A: We have established our own mining pool using miningcore and will monitor resource usage and the requirement for expanding our existing hardware pool vs engaging a third-party pool provider.

Q: Why did we set up our own mining pool vs engaging third-party upfront?
We feel that any good coin has its own mining pool. Whilst this mining pool may not always be the preferred pool once larger providers come on board, we felt it was important to provide our own.

Q: How many connected miners can you handle?
A: We have stress tested as much as we could, however, do not have a fixed number. We have resource monitoring in place and the ability to expand hardware within hours of alarms triggering. Our thresholds start pretty low so we get plenty of warning that our resources need upgrading.

Always back it up if you create a new receive address and keep old copies

*There are Auto backups found in %appdata%\hanacoin\backups

Restore:
Install qt wallet
Replace the default %appdata%/Hanacoin/wallet.dat with your latest backup copy
Sync wallet.

Are the dev tokens locked for a certain amount of time?

What's stopping you from dumping your coins and running the moment this hits an exchange?

That is a good question. No, they are not locked but we have a contract in place that limits the sale of coins to 150,000 coins per month. I know with so many crypto scams around that I would also be questioning this point but we have a long-term plan in place. Our team are all quite successful in their own fields and there is no point for us to dump the coins and destroy the value of the coin.

hanpool 2 hour Mining..  when?? reward payout????

It takes 100 blocks for your first payout. Each block is 1.5 minutes so it will take 2.5hrs for your first payment.

It was said that this coins is mine able at home, does it means we are able to mine this coins just using a regular PC.
Will it disturb our daily use on the PC if we used it in multi task between daily work and mining using the same PC?

Mining Hanacoin will use most of your PC's GPU power. If you are not using any graphics-intensive applications such as Photoshop or gaming, then you can mine Hanacoin while you work. If you do find that it is slowing your computer down, you can lower the intensity of the miner by adding '-i 15' or a lower number to your miner when you follow the setup instructions. You can also just mine at nighttime if you find it is disturbing your daytime computer useage.

We are making some updates to the pool settings. You may not be able to mine for a few minutes.

We are currently finding a good balance for the pool difficulty. You may need to restart your miner. You may see the message "Stratum connection interrupted" because we are testing a higher difficulty. The difficulty will be lowered in about 1.5hrs.

A bold move to go against what's popular nowadays in the crypto market and not make this a privacy coin, but I commend you and your team to go that route. Glad to have found out about this coin only about 6 hours after your initial post. I don't have a powerful PC to mine with but it's decent enough to start out with. :)

Also, I've noticed many third-party mining pools have already popped up in this thread allowing for mining of HANA. To help any newcomers to this coin, are you able to provide endorsement or any other type of verification that you support them by adding them to one of your first posts?

At the moment the issue we are having with the pool relates to the difficulty. As several large miners have connected, we have to increase the pool difficulty to prevent the network being flooded with successful messages. This needs to be balanced with smaller miners to ensure they can still mine successfully. We are currently reviewing the pool diff and adjusting to try and find this optimal balance. We hope to have another diff update in about an hour.

"Not a Privacy coin" sounds like privacy is something bad. 20% premine. Over 20% is a red flag for me but if there are some reasons for it than it's fine. ASIC resistance is good, good luck.

I would be interested in a pool for lower-powered GPUs! I'm only running a GTX 860M haha. Averaging about 5500 kH/s but I seem to be getting more shares from your pool now after restarting, about 10 shares every 7 minutes.

We have just launched a new server to run our mining pool, the CNAME record change has been made but it will take up to 4 hours (that depends on your DNS root node). While you're waiting, you can use this ip: stratum+tcp://52.62.54.93:3032 to connect to hanapool and continue mining. The pool difficulty has been adjusted to cater to all types of GPU's. Please let me know how it goes.

I mined about 10,000 shares last night on the Hana pool and never received a payout.  What gives?  On the other hand, I mined on weekend pool and received all from there.

Also, please keep in mind that payments have a 100 block confirmation. Based on our target time of 1 block per 1.5min, it should be taking around 2.5hours to clear the payments. So if you moved pools in this time, the payments would have come in after your pool move.

Yeah, this transactions is good, i see it in my wallet. But these payments was from https://www.hanapool.hanacoin.com/ and done before.

After 20 minutes server break, i switch to 52.62.54.93:3032 - as you say to do - and mined 4,5 hours (until now).
And don t get any payment from  52.62.54.93:3032

Please check this issue again.

Hanapool has a new beefy server and is working perfectly now.

Our test mining was perfect, no issues. Once we started getting some big miners on yesterday we had issues with load balancing and also with the pool difficulty. So we paid for an additional AWS instance and turned our servers off. Once we did this, all mining on our pool resulted in orphaned blocks so our pool is being beaten to the block confirmation. This is why we are officially launching on June 12, to sort out the teething problems. However, we will endeavor to make sure you receive payment for the mining you did last night. Our team has been working on the problem all day and we have another test underway at the moment. I'll post here once our pool is operational again. Thanks for your patience while we resolve the issue.

very high difficulty impossible to dig

Hi Dilbo,
The current difficulty on the coin is 495.846 which is still relatively low as its a new coin. This adjusts up and down automatically to try and restrict the flow of coins to 1 block per 1.5 minutes regardless of the number of miners. There is a separate difficulty applied at each pool level which should be restricting the level of packets you submit back to the pool to ensure the pool resources are sufficient.
The pool level diff can make it appear like you are submitting less due to the increased difficulty, however, there is generally a difficulty to share ratio which caters for miners submitting fewer packets but at a higher difficulty to ensure they are not disadvantaged over higher submissions but at a lower difficulty.
We have seen payouts on single gpu miners all the way to quite large miners which is a great balance to see.

If you are using the current hanapool mining pool, we have discussed above some issues we are experiencing and hope to have resolved shortly.

Thank you for supporting our coin in its early days and I hope you continue to believe in what we are trying to achieve.

Many coins are experiencing problems at the start of mining, but the main thing is not to give up and persistently deal with current problems without spilling effort into secondary tasks. This is exactly what the developers of this project are doing.

Thank you for your patience with us during our pool issues. We are now seeing payment allocations correctly flowing from hanapool.
We will be closely monitoring this over the next 24 hours in case any additional or potential issues arise.
We are also reviewing all miners connected to Hanapool over the last 24 hours who missed payments to organize some compensation in hanacoins for you. Whilst the payments were legitimately missed due to mining pool competition constraints and paid out to another pool, we don't feel its fair you missed out because of our issue.
We hope to have the list reviewed and finalized in the next 24-48 hours.

It is mainnet now. You can mine now and receive coins. We are using this period to work through any bugs before we start to promote Hanacoin on June 12.

Our Hanapool is working well again now.

During our hanapool difficulties, 3900 were orphaned. We have now distributed the 3900 coins to those of you who mined Hanacoin on Hanapool when we had the outage. The equation we used to work out the number of coins distributed was shares submitted by your miner during this period divided by total shares submitted by all miners during this period multiplied by 3900 coins.

In 53 hours, since the time this announcement thread started, 463000 coins were mined, assuming that when mining started it was at block 450000. Not too bad! I know the difficulty and amount of miners will change this but it looks like we'll be set to have mined close to if not over 3000000 coins by June 12.

Hi Overnight my hash rate has dropped from 110Mhs to 92Mhs.
I've tested two pools with the same result.
I've tested other coins and their hash rate is reporting what I have mined before so it is not a rig issue.
Difficulty changes don't affect my hash rate.
Has there been a network change with this coin?

We have not had any network change. Check that your GPU's are not getting too hot.

Nope they are cooler than usual by 2-3 degrees.
Hash rate is higher now.. for the last 20 minutes. 108MH/s Difficulty has dropped from the 500's to 3-400's

A couple of us have been trying to optimize a tpruvot clone you are welcome to test to see if this helps and report back.
Better hashing is the aim so you should see some improvements.
It will have dev mining time of 1 minute every hour as we aim to use the funds to to help upgrade further.
If we don't get better hashing we will remove this
A batch file is provided - If you use it you will probably know to change the -u address to your own.
You can use it to solo mine while the difficulty is low

I will give it a try.
My test rig is a fresh build and is closed off by a firewall. It logs connections. Sorry but I will report here if there is some sort of callouts that are suspicious. So hopefully there will be none.

Edit: I will expect a once an hour dev mining connection which will be blocked if not one of the pools I allow.

Ran it over night and seems to be more stable which shows me my issues is more with the algo and mining software than the pool or network.
I was getting an extra approx 1MH/s, showing more often as well (Only from a small sample of time so take what you want from that).
Only callouts were once an hour to suprnova for 1 minute so that part is true so far.

I tried Solo mining for a few hours yesterday and found two blocks when the difficulty was 400-450 (My hash rate 109-110MHs)
Since I was not on the pools this time I got 50coins for one. The other was rejected - the wallet gives reasons for this, e.g. someone else solved it within seconds and it got into the mempool first.

Solo Mining Config

It is really only worth solo mining when the difficulty is low

Your miner needs to support getblocktemplate and coinbase-addr

Make sure that your mining machine is just that and not your usual everyday machine when using closed source miners

You need to install a wallet on your miner or on a machine that your mining computer can reach
(I'd say install on your miner to avoid connectivity issues if you are a novice)
Run the wallet and synchronize it to the network

Go to Settings-> Options-> Open Configuration file
(or Start-> Run. %appdata%/Hanacoin and edit hanacoin.conf edit in sonething like notepad)

*Note if your wallet is not synching then add a few nodes

Add them into your conf file in the following format (note the port is 9501)

These are the settings your bat file will use to connect to your wallet to mine.
rpcuser: Username for your batch file
rpcpassword: Password for your batch file
rpcallowip: IP address of the machine where your wallet is installed and running. Can be the same machine - if so transfer any large amounts to another wallet offline
rpcport: Any port number you want.


Check your ip and replace 192.168.1.10 with your IP
i.e. on the machine with your wallet installed Start Menu (start typing cmd) enter - which will open a command console
Type: ipconfig
look for IPv4 Address that is poulated with and IP address of your network.


Save the file
*IMPORTANT once saved close your wallet and let it shutdown completely
Re-open your wallet.


Batch file should look like:
hashpro.exe -a lyra2rev2 -o http://192.168.1.10:91919 -u test -p x --coinbase-addr=HJzbjF8YUcETVB6K23o84aRY7wBirzJNrr --no-stratum --no-longpoll  

Change the IP address, Port, User, password to reflect your conf file. Change the coinbase address to your own


Troubleshooting:
If you are using another miner it needs to support getblocktemplate and coinbase-addr.
If your wallet is on a seperate machine it will need to be reachable by your mining machine.
Windows firewall may play a part in stopping the connection
If on a separate network it may be routing or a network firewall
If coming throught he internet you will need to setup port forwarding
Easier if you setup another "mining" wallet on your miner, even it is just to test first.

* and yes it is not recommended to setup a wallet on your miner but do not use this to keep your millions  ;)
Encrypt it and back it up as usual

I have not tested solo mining using another wallets address as the the coinbase address i.e. when you solve a block the reward goes to another wallet.

Difficulty has been between 250-550 for the last week
There was a big rental hash 8 hours which drove the diff to 1200-1500

Keep mining peeps as after the 12th (official Launch) it may not be this low ever again

In short, no KYC is not required for anyone holding Hanacoin. KYC rules differ between each country but tend to apply at the financial transaction level (exchange).

Basically, transactions can be seen in the block explorer and tied back to individual wallets numbers.

Hit no blocks after solo mining today for 6-7 hours. The diff has been under 300 a lot of the day, even under 200 at some stages
Goes to show it can be unlucky a lot of the time
I have to turn my rig off for a few days since my job involves a lot of travel.

Did you only start 2 hours ago? If so, there is a payment confirmation of 100 blocks which at 1.5min per block is around the 2.5hour mark. Once the won block is confirmed, payments are made. I expect you will see payment start coming through in the next hour or so depending on when the pool won the first block since you joined.

Just wanted to point out that I tried ccminer 2.2.6 (https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases/tag/2.2.6-tpruvot) today, was on 2.2.2. I'm seeing about 4 MH/s more on my 2x GTX 1060s with 2.2.6.

Also, just as a "for what it's worth", I can mine Hana on my GTX 760 2GB card - what my old, reliable desktop PC is still running.

I know... a whopping 1190-ish kH/s, but hey, every bit counts, right? Without using the "-i" setting in the .bat file it defaults to intensity 18. Makes for a rather slow desktop. I'll just be letting it run at night.

I did some casual comparison with HanaPool and a couple others. Granted, I, and my humble 2x GTX 1060 rig, may not be the best suited for such a task, but I'm noticing HanaPool payments are considerably lower than WeekendPool and SmithPool... like, by half.

We haven't had this reported before.
From having a very quick look, I can see weekendpool.net has 62 miners. From memory, weekendpool miners are the total workers connected, not accounts (not sure if this has changed in the last few days). Hanapool has 60 connected miners (these are accounts, not workers). So when hanapool wins a block, it will be split between more accounts. I suspect this is the reason for the lower quantity.

We have been working on an issue with miningcore(the pool software) where the pool hashrate returned in the API is displaying higher than it should for Lyra2REv2. Well, regardless of the issue, the bottom line for this lowly miner is coins/hr and HanaPool is severely lagging behind the likes of WeekendPool. I was using SmithPool, with similar higher results, as well, but they seem to be having a problem staying online.



Yeah, that was something else I was wondering about. WeekendPool is currently showing 62 miners with 6.6 Gh/s, and HanaPool has 61 "miners" (accounts?) with over 31 Gh/s.

Completly understand, I'm always chasing the best payout with my miners on other coins as that's what makes it worthwhile.

I have reached out to Smithpool. Not sure what issues they are having. I cant see anything current on their Discord.

I will look further at hanapool but I suspect it will come down to the same explanation. We will have similar hashrate to weekendpool but more accounts mining to generate that hash so more accounts to share with.



Accounts = unique wallet addresses
Workers = all workers under a wallet address
For example, 1 wallet address could have 3 workers (miner1, miner2, miner3) etc.

A few days ago Weekendpool was showing 1000+ miners, this was because they had 1 wallet running 800+ workers.

I commend them on what direction they are going with this project, especially foregoing the privacy and proof-of-stake/masternode aspects that many other coins are attempting to use. Although the coin only uses Proof-of-Work (PoW), in my opinion that will help to keep a higher value as opposed to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) and/or Masternode coins because of the lower rate of new coins being minted. As long as the block times stay consistently fast even as it approaches max supply of 122.5 million and continues to be ASIC and hack-resistant, I can see this being really successful.

That's the technical aspect. I'm very interested in the marketing focus. Targeting youth, e-sports, and talent from universities sounds like a smart thing. And considering the CEO and COO are from a very successful specialty sporting goods company, I can see them pulling that off. It would be cool to see, when the time comes, if they provide English versions of their South Korean marketing campaigns to give us an idea of how things are going.

There are a number of things about this project that appeal to me. And, as I said before, I'm excited to be in on the ground floor. I'm new at this and having to start low and slow, but I'll be throwing every dollar I have into expanding my meager miner over the next few months and devoting it all to Hana for the long run. That may end up being a big, wasteful mistake... or it might be one of the smartest things I've ever done. 8)

Kristy-Leigh is spot on. The design of Lyrs2REv2's defensive mechanism is in multi algorithms. It only takes a manufacturer to develop a multicore board to break this. You can chain more algo's but this is not a good solution. Changing algo's won't have much effect as you can just send out an update to change the algo on the chip.
I don't have a solution and at present, there isn't a holistic solution in the market. 
Our intentions with our graduate program are to develop new ideas to defend against ASIC miners and/or delay the ability for asic miners to overtake the hash power of our network. Forking the coin to a new algo is definitely on the cards once ASIC mining is readily available for Lyrs2REv2.

We had several things go wrong at once.
First was the Bitcoin Security update which saw our trading suspended on Crypto-Bridge for a couple of days whilst we processed the update. Currently, there is a transaction issue preventing withdrawals due to no witnesses which is now fixed in the code but will take about 15 days to take effect as its SegWit related and needs consensus to pass. The final is ASIC miners becoming available and mining + auto selling on the Hana network.

We are working on forking the coin at the moment to move away from the ASIC miners. Once we fork we will seek a second exchange.

These items combined will start the Hana price rising again.

We have made some changes to the Hanacoin wallet and released version v0.16.3.1 to address the current transactions issues. This release kicks off the consensus for SegWit implementation which is conducted in periods. We asked all pool operators to upgrade their daemons before the new period kicked off. We were successful in getting the majority of pools to upgrade.

Successful implementation of SegWit requires 7560 blocks out of 10080 to be generated by the updated pools so it is critical to be mining on a pool supporting Hanacoin 0.16.3.1.
Current status for this period is:
6898 blocks passed of 10080.
Of the 6898, 6293 are SegWit blocks. This gives us a 91% SegWit generation rate and puts us 83% of the way to successfully implementing SegWit.

Whilst its good news to have progressed the issue, it means for SegWit to be successfully implemented we have another few days of waiting and require network support to successfully implement.

SegWit will provide the missing witnesses on the Hanacoin chain that are currently causing transactions not process as they are awaiting these witnesses (non-SegWit does not have witnesses).

This issue came about because the fork we took originally already had SegWit implemented hence our later assumption with a security update that SegWit was on the network. We have since learnt that when forking, it's important to understand consensus items will need to be re-implemented, that's what we missed.

As the year comes to an end I just want to thank everyone who has put in so much hard work on the Hanacoin project to get it from an idea to a viable project. We had a lot of ups and downs and we learnt a huge amount during the year and we are ending on a high note with segwit passing. Hanacoin is now a coin that is owned and promoted by the Hanacoin community, not just the coin founders. We ticked off most of our 2018 Roadmap and we have also been working on the 2019 roadmap. From a marketing point of view, we will be increasing our Hanacoin team in 2019 and promoting at more skating events. I hope that we can get some Pro gamers to sign up with Hanacoin in the first half of 2019.

When we first listed our ANN on Bitcointalk, we copped a lot of criticism about our pre mine. People said that we were only in it for the short term and some people called us crooks. As we explained, it is not easy or cheap to launch a new coin. We have put a lot of our personal savings into Hanacoin to get it off the ground and I am happy that people are now acknowledging that we are trustworthy and that they now see that we are not in it for the short term. This is a long term project.

They're still working on the fork to Lyra2rev3. We've had a few updates on Discord, but nothing definitive yet. Should be soon.

Good to see there's still interest. I'm in with HANA for the long haul, but a bit frustrated by the slow development. CryptoBridge requirement for KYC isn't helping much. But hey, if you're looking for cheap coins right now, HANA is there for the taking.  ;)

You will need to update your wallet from hanacoin.com by downloading the new wallet and copying over the old one.

Looks like there's some interest in HANA, once again. Price has gone from 3 sat to 13 since the fork. Volume is up.

It's only trading on CryptoBridge, I hope that doesn't put people off. They have adopted KYC verification, but I didn't find that to be a problem. I've been using CryptoBridge for over a year now, and haven't had any problems.

It would be nice to see some more people get on board with this project. I still believe they have potential.
