Title: 7950 Sapphire dead Post by: titolr10 on January 27, 2014, 01:56:16 AM Hi!
After few days of mining, my 3 of 14 Sapphire 7950 boost edition cards just dead (Even PSU doesnt start, when they are connected). I dont even try to change voltage. They all work on 1100 engine clock and 1250 memory clock. The other cards restart system without a reason sometimes. Is there a possibilty, that i buy cards with defect? Or this maybe my foult? I think 1100 is not too high.. BR! Title: Re: 7950 Sapphire dead Post by: sunszl on January 27, 2014, 02:27:03 AM too fast. GPU should be @800.
Title: Re: 7950 Sapphire dead Post by: titolr10 on January 27, 2014, 02:42:09 AM I have stable temps ~70C, and everyone in each sites have above 1100 gpu engine.
I dont have AMD driver crash. This could be possible, that i can set engine higher than 1000? Title: Re: 7950 Sapphire dead Post by: Prelektro on January 27, 2014, 03:16:56 AM https://www.sapphireforum.com/showthread.php?32967-Sapphire-7950-Dual-X-Bios-015-040-000-001-000000-Wth
had the same problem. 3 cards dead, retailer changed them, now using them undervolted at stock clocks. return them if you can and get some other card. Title: Re: 7950 Sapphire dead Post by: zackclark70 on January 27, 2014, 03:21:51 AM I run the same cards at 1050core 1250 mem 1.050v core and get 630-660kh I cant see 50mhz more being an issue as a lot of people run more than 1100mhz
have you made sure its not the motherboard or PSU ? Title: Re: 7950 Sapphire dead Post by: Prelektro on January 27, 2014, 03:24:54 AM I'm %100 sure there is problem with these new released 7950 sapphires - i had read reports from 2-3 different miners . it's not about motherboard, psu etc. i had sapphires dead on different mobos, psu's in 2 weeks. temperatures seem normal while mining but there is something getting hot other than core. you better undervolt your cards or they will die 1 by 1 eventually (or simply return them) i'm using my cards at 0.962 V with 925/1250 clocks and getting 560 khash.

I must have the older ones they have been running 7 months no issues :) Title: Re: 7950 Sapphire dead Post by: titolr10 on January 27, 2014, 11:46:40 AM Those are 11196-19-20G.
Any stable bioses? Or how to undervolt them? I tried msi afterburn and I can't chage voltage there.. Title: Re: 7950 Sapphire dead Post by: Prelektro on January 27, 2014, 02:25:19 PM i used sapphire trixx, it should work.
