Why the ₿ should look like the $,€ or ¥, while Bitcoin wants to change our economic model ?

Maybe to change the system, Bitcoin have to change its Logo ?

 I think no need to change bitcoin logo because it is the symbol of a valuable digital coins that was created by Satoshi Nakamoto 9 years ago. That logo is the remembrance and a sign of success not only of the bitcoin creator but also to all bitcoiners who are gaining and change  their living through this coin. In other word Bitcoin logo is the mirror of the past,present and future. It is just my opinion.

There is no need to change the logo since the logo was designed by Nakamoto which means that bitcoin is a currency. Even if we change the logo bitcoin will not change and there will be no changes in the market value nor on its algorithms. Thus, for me it is only a waste of time to change the logo since what we must need to do is to focus on the most important areas of bitcoin such as its market value, transaction matters.

I think no need because btc is a pioneer,if indeed there is an alternation should be at the beginning of the initial appearance,people are already very familiar with logo that is now and has been considered as a symbolic which is attached to and if in the dressing I think it is quite annoying

I agree of that there is no reason why to change bitcoin logo. Even they change its  useless cause in there minds it is only one logo there recognized design by Nakamoto. In there first impressions in logo is profit a big profit, that's why there's no reason to change it.

That's right, the bitcoin logo is clearly identified by the general public as the symbol of bitcoin.
But is it a good sign? Does it reflect the values of the project and its creator?

A logo evolves in the same way that a company evolves, Satoshi is an excellent engineer and a great visionary but I don't think he's a good designer.

I'm personally for a Bitcoin logo evolution, not for aesthetic reasons but to give it more meaning and create a new sign that embodies this ambition to create a new economic model and change paradigms

I think it's unnecessary action, change or not logo bitcoin will not make any significant changes. people use and invest in bitcoins not in visible logos, but they trust and feel the many benefits of bitcoin. so bitcoin will remain popular even without logo changes.

No there is no need to change bitcoin's logo , the symbol has already printed to our minds and everyone was contented and happy to it. Some will agree to change it but for me I want to stay how it is just like others paper currencies even how many years comes it still stay the same way.

I am totally agree with you, bitcoin doesn't need to change it's logo. we really need to focus on security and transaction of bitcoin.

It should remain as is, since it is the logo in which people knew bitcoin about. Also, changing the logo would be the least of the concerns this community and devs are concerned about. There's no practical reason in changing BTC symbol/logo apart from an ideology that bitcoin should be different from your normal currency/fiat. We may get there in the future, yes, but for the meantime, directing our efforts toward something more valuable is still the most practical use of energy and resources for the development of bitcoin.

There's no need and no reason to change Bitcoin logo.  Even if they change it's logo Bitcoin will still be the same. Bitcoin will still be popular and people will continue to invest in Bitcoin not  because of the logo, it's because of the huge profit people can gain in Bitcoin. This BTC logo will be the only trademark of Bitcoin that makes Bitcoin popular and successful.

Why change what works? The symbol is not in any way a problem for the development of bitcoin and should not attract any attention. Bitcoin has other issues to be worried about, not symbol.

the current logo that you commonly see as bitcoin logo is not designed by Satoshi, the idea is from his original design and idea but it has changed. if you think it is bad then feel free to give a suggestion or if you can design one, if it is good enough then we will use that as the logo.

Bitcoin's logo has always been known to be "the Bitcoin". We all hear the saying: the only constant in this world is change- But if it changing the logo would help Bitcoin stabilize, then I guess we should change it. And we should make sure it will be known the change and still be know the legendary Bitcoin.

I think the bitcoin logo must not be changed, if the bitcoin logo is changed, then the bitcoin popularity will fall. bitcoin has a logo that makes it strong.

the popularity of bitcoin is already known by the ₿ logo, and it's patent logo belonging to Satoshi as the person who created bitcoin. we have no obligation to change that logo.

so, bitcoin logos will not be changed but bitcoin systems should always innovate and must be updated.

Bitcoin is the best among other alt-coin, for every reason, bitcoin function is very perfect in price and the transaction platform the symbol logo always display to show, that the is real coin. secondly, bitcoin logo does not need to change logo and it can be change. 

This will only cause confusion and unfamiliarity. One of the purpose of creating a logo for something is to give it an identity that can be easily recognize by all.

It looks like a $,€ or ¥ because Bitcoin was created as a currency, and a B with a | is obviously making it identify as a currency.

I can't think of anything else on what Bitcoin's logo should look like. And by the way, I hope the Bitcoin logo will be available in our keyboards too. :D

No need to change logo. With the current logo bitcoin still able to attract a considerable interest in investment issues. So, it's better to change the thinking process and how each individual works to get maximum results in bitcoin rather than having to think about replacing bitcoin logos.

I think we dont need to change the logo because with the currency logo of bitcoin it is still able to attract many people to invest here in bitcoin. Because when the logo changed then the popularity will fall.

No, bitcoin does not need to change its logo, bitcoin will be more popular in the future even if still using old logo. I prefer the benefits of bitcoin and not the logo of bitcoin.

to stop the squabbling between those that want to evolve the symbology, vs those that dont..

leave the BTC generally as is.
but because the valuations are getting large. many people will move to 'bits' (100 satoshi / BTC0.00000100)
so how about think of what the symbol for 'bits' should be as we still are not quite at a overall utility of bits for it to be much of a change

I think everybody is very good at seeing the Bitcoin logo that is identical to Letter B, and it's so in keeping with the Bitcoin Name itself, so I do not think it will matter.

I think no need to change the logo of bitcoin. The logo doesn't matter. This was created by Nakamoto before 9 years ago. The was designed by him. We have to thank him. If we change the logo Most of the people not accept include me. Bitcoin is more valuable.

Because it's a Thai baht symbol, the most suitable for typing the BTC name. Why should we bring a new symbol if the old one is fine?

I love Bitboy design and in my opinion Bitcoin logo is just perfect.
I would love to tattoo it on my forehead but it might looks a bit stupid.


However, I'm pretty sure the official BTC logo will evolve during the time somewhere in the future (as it already did).
But I feel like it's not yet the right time.

You do not need to change the logo BTC. It will lead to nothing, on the contrary all have become accustomed to this logo. There can only be confusion.

I don't think so - there is no need for us to think about new BTC logo, it's not the problem here.
Bitcoin logo is just fine as it is, it is simple, easy to spot differentiate from other crypto/fiat logos and clear to understand for everyone.
What is bothering me is fact that we have more than one "bitcoin' now and Bitcoin Cash has an awfully similar logo to old Bitcoin.
This might be confusing for the untrained eyes.

As the majority says, there is no need to change the Bitcoin logo. I have read before that "the symbol was designed by Satoshi Nakamoto for the icon of an early version of the original Bitcoin client, though the very first versions of the Bitcoin client used "BC" instead of any special symbol." It was not changed since that. And the popularity of this currency is known all over the world, like how they know the logo/symbol of a dollar ($) and other fiat currencies. The question must be this one, "If  ever Bitcoin changes its logo, will Bitcoin Cash change its logo too?"

But we should not start considering a branding change while Bitcoin is fighting to get heard and recognized by a wider audience. The BTC is not affecting the price. If you want to help bitcoin grow in popularity go out in your world and introduce people to it. Ask merchants if they accept it as payment...and then be willing to USE it for payment if they say "Yes! Bitcoin accepted here!"

You could even go so far as to buy 100s of Bitcoin Accepted Here stickers and put them on the storefronts everywhere, just generating the discussion and news will help with awareness and diffusing the "this is new and weird" mentality.

why change the logo ?? it's simple and adequate. now it is almost a brand. you would never change the logo of a known brand of clothes or accessories. then,personally, i like it.

And what would be the exact reason for a change? Bitcoin is very well known at the current symbol and people recgonize it for it. The change of it could bring the opposite effect and people might not like it. No one likes the changes that are not necessary, especialy for something that is successful. This is very bad idea and will not bring anything good.

Thanks for sharing this, it is interesting to see early versions of Bitcoin software. I seriously don't think the logo needs to change as it denotes value. All currency symbols look like this to denote value.

Bitcoin icon is absolutely not important to me. Even if it's a smile or a dot. The main thing in this content. More precisely, this is a stable price!

Hi there Logo-coin! Do changing the logo will change something? Yes indeed the currency logo should be unique so that it could easily be distinguished by many. However, changing the logo at the current state of bitcoin will confuse most of its user and new user. Logo marks as the iconic tool or a mark that defines everything. But it doesn't mean that a logo should be the first letter of the currency like yen, euro and others. Dollars even use the letter S which is the last letter of the word dollars, but missing in the word dollar. Bitcoin on the other hand, uses a quite similar way to other using the first letter and changing that will be a lot of confusion and expenses.

I don't think we need it. Something shouldn't be changed. The Satoshi Nakamoto or the team selected the Bitcoin logo. It is perfect and Unique. It addresses bitcoin, day by day bitcoin technology will improve, all bugs will fix, but I think the logo of bitcoin shouldn't be changed. It's a legendary logo to me. That logo reminds me the old day, old golden days with bitcoin.

Why should it be changed? I Don't understand. Maybe some time later when it takes over mainstream but you can change it just slightly  and I have no idea how can you change it anymore and not complicate it or make it unrecognizable.

No need change bitcoin logo, because it's logo bitcoin real symbol. Actually it not possible because it select Satoshi Nakamoto and her team choice.i am sure it is the fixed logo for the bitcoin.

This is the first I heard of anyone mentioning this at all.  It would be kinda pointless, is there anyone that has a desire to do this?

It is just an appearance, it doesn't really matter much.
And if you change it you will just make a lot of confusion or some fools will use that old logo just so they could scam others.
Let it stay that way, worry about when the merchants are going to come in. That is the sensitive part since they still dont want a volatile currency.

No, we don't change the logo of bitcoin. We have been used to it for so many years. It's as if we saw a familiar person immediately recognize it. Bitcoin is not a simple virtual currency. It is a consensus of the community. Now the logo is a cultural symbol. I think it should not be changed.

So true we have use bitcoin for long already so why it needs to change. Bitcoin logo should still used this is the logo has been critized, wearing that loves by most. Others do changes indeed because it happen and to attract more users but in bitcoin it is already likes by many.

There is no need to change the bitcoin logo. I think the main purpose of changing the logo is when a product is not that eye catching or when a product is making a comeback from a slump. Bitcoin was already famous regardless of how the logo looks like. I can't even think of a better logo that what it has now so its much better if we stay with. Majority of us doesn't even care on what the logo is, value is more important than appearance.

As a currency symbol for Bitcoin some use BTC and some use Ƀ and sometimes (mostly trading platforms) XBT is used.
People prefer to use Ƀ because there is ฿ (U+0E3F) representing the Thailand currency which can be confusing with BTC from Bitcoin.
For XBT, X means there is no nation behind, for example, gold is XAU

Bitcoin exists almost for ten years already,.  Do you really think it is necessary to change the logo to make it not the same look as fiat logos? I do not think so. The symbol is already known and something new will confuse people. And add to that who will be response for new logo? Nobody own bitcoin and the identity of Satosi is still covered.

You want to change the logo, go ahead. You think the logo is what made bitcoin but what made it bitcoin is the value people placed in it. In the corporate world, a company does not just wake up and decide to change their logo, there are some salient features that is put into consideration because it goes beyond symbols or acronyms but its the true essence of their identity among which has it outlived the reason why it was created in the first place and that is why they rather go through remodeling or improvement rather than an outright change.

No need to change the Bitcoin logo. Bitcoin has been with us since 2009 and most likely will be confused with Bitcoin's new logo. There will be a lot of scammers taking advantage of this situation and going scam everyone's money in many different ways

There isn't a need to change bitcoin logo. Changing this logo won't have any effect on the views people have about bitcoins nor will it affect the price of bitcoins.

Bitcoin sign is like other currencies signs because it is also a currency and it will work the same as others but its function is in the digital era. That sign do not mean any older sign but just a currency sign. We do not want to change the logo of bitcoin because we love it as it is because it is this sign which gave us the better future with a convenient way of transactions and economics.

I dont think its necessary to change the logo of bitcoin. Changing name of something established actually takes huge tolls. But in case of bitcoin its really unnecessary.  

This logo is just an external symbol designating bitcoin.
It is simple and easy to understand for all those newcomers on the market.
I can't get why changing the "wrapper" would benefit to the perception of the idea of blockchain itself.

Hello. in my opinion, bitcoin should not change its logo because it looks good, everybody knows it, created a name, a reputation, everyone crypto is influenced by bitcoin value

Bitcoin logo looks great and there is no point to change it. Aside from other currencies, I think that its one of the most ICONIC logo ever. Almost everyone knows that its bitcoin and that logo already established itself and it really symbolized bitcoin. It won't affect anything so its a waste of time changing it. If it ain't broke, don't fix/change it.

For the logo that is now fitting and very good in my opinion. For now there is no need to think about replacing logos, but it's better to think about the procedures, vision and mission of Bitcoin work for the future to become better in the future, and also acceptable worldwide as a substitute for fiat currency to be digital that is easier and also safe.

Right not bitcoin doesn't need a logo change. Heck! Over 80% of the world's population don't even know what bitcoin is.

I think we dont need to change the bitcoin logo. Because at the first place it is a trademark that was people know when they think about bitcoin the first thing that they mind will see is the bitcoin logo. But if we think logo or image is doesnt matter. Because in everyday in our life we are always see and remember the goodness and what are the benefits that we receive coming from bitcoin. In other people's mind bitcoin's logo serves as a peso or dollar sign when they imagine because of benefits that bitcoin that gave to them or to us. Remember logo is just an image the real logo of bitcoin is success.

To many, the arrival of Bitcoin changed life, in the literal sense. I heard that someone even in honor of Bitcoin called his son. So changing the logo will have a bad effect on the bitcoin itself and maybe even on the price. Let everything remain BTC.
