Title: What if you lose 7500 Bitcoins worth 79 MILLION $ !!???
Post by: Carthages on May 29, 2018, 01:39:42 PM
This happened to James Howells ,a computer specialist in crypt-currency . He actually lost 7500 Bitcoins in 2009, which today equates to about 79 million of dollars : So here's the full story : back in 2009 James was already interested in Bitcoin and had managed to mine 7 500 Bitcoins in just one week. But at that time it wasn't really an incredible performance. Then he put aside his hard drive, and forgot it.
In 2013, the price of Bitcoin increased, crossing the threshold is 100 dollars. James then searched for his hard drive, the one on which were the private keys opening the access to the portfolio containing the Bitcoins. Unfortunately, he recalled getting rid of it , he said : '' In 2009, I mined over 7 500 coins in a single week. Four years later, I put two hard disks in a desk drawer. One was empty, while the other contained my private BTC keys. I was planning to throw out the empty drive – and I accidentally threw the one that contained the information opening access to my Bitcoins. »
 ;D ;D ;D  ??? ??? ??? ???
So guys keep all your altcoins in safer place, it might be the next Bitcoin .

the only thing that i find interesting about this is the fact that it proves once again that there has been many people other than Satoshi that have been mining bitcoin back in year 1. and it is proof that the estimation of 1 million  coins mined by Satoshi is an overkill.

So guys keep all your altcoins in safer place, it might be the next Bitcoin .

nice joke :D

The wallet is divided into a cold wallet and a hot wallet. The existence of a cold wallet can maximize the preservation of BTC.
Bitcoin doesn't need to be stored. It's the private key you use to create your Bitcoin address.
Bitcoin's security means that no one but your private key can control your Bitcoin!

A good story like many other stories! But it may be that some people have lost a large amount of their assets at current prices!

I do not know, I just never thought to be able to have that much bitcoin. But if I really lose that much bitcoin, maybe I will get severe depression.

It's tragic story really.
I also remember another, funny story when one delivery boy received 1 btc for single pizza because man didn't have cash at the moment.
It happened also long time ago.
There are many such stories.
Many times we feel that something has no value but sometimes we are wrong.

This has happened before Mr. James. But this is your own responsibility.Your private key can be made with vigilance and strong your privacy. It's a joke that I can not afford such a big shock

Nice drama story. However anyone who is going mine Bitcoin should first PROTECT and SAVE his Keys. So I do not feel sorry about him.

you are right most people lose bitcoin because of the current price and I myself do not have that much bitcoin if I had to do it I would be careful to keep the private key in order to stay safe and can be accessed by my own
but this is a good story so we can take postifnya thing

That's a massive loss, and from an analysis it is clear that around 18% of the bitcoin once after the entire volume of bitcoin mining is expected to go under the unused lost bitcoin which won't be contributing to the calculated value as it won't be in circulation. If I were the person then I too would have suffered mental illness.
