Title: walletpassphrase and wallet.dat Post by: guyon on January 27, 2014, 12:46:09 PM Hopefully a quick question...
In the Bitcoin API Call List for walletpassphrase it says "Stores the wallet decryption key in memory for <timeout> seconds." Am I right in assuming that this means that the wallet.dat file remains encrypted? So... If I call walletpassphrase [timeout] + some other call + walletlock and restrict the number of connections to 1 then there is no time where the bitcoind daemon is vulnerable Title: Re: walletpassphrase and wallet.dat Post by: bitpop on January 28, 2014, 10:13:52 AM Yes it's only vulnerable via rpc for that time.
