Title: Bullion backed digital currecny-XNF
Post by: lightyear69 on January 27, 2014, 02:06:03 PM
There is a digital currency NoFiatCoin-XNF which is backed by bullion. Currency is traded on ripple and can be redeemed for bullion.

Is there a need to have something like bullion to back a digital currency?

People will decide if there is a need for digital currency to be backed by bullion. In a few months things will get clear. A lot will depend on the company as how they process bullion redemption.

Yeah but as i mentioned earlier, XNF is traded on ripple which will be biggest hurdle for them. Ripple is centralized network and people don't like it specially bitcoiners!

FYI

Starting January 28, 2014, everyone can now exchange BTC for XNF, even without an active ripple wallet, through direct payment to NoFiatCoin's Bitcoin wallet.
