As you can see I'm just 1cm short with these 30cm usb risers. I tried to find 50-100cm usb 3.0 cables locally but they're all +1.8m

Need someone from EU to fedex/dhl me preferably 50cm usb 3.0 cables as soon as possible, I need about 10 but for now 4 will do.

Paying with btc.

Any reason you can't tap another hole and just slide the card down to make up the difference for a short term fix?

There are several solutions for this problem but they're all improvisations to the original design, I would just rather do it proper once. Thanks for the input though.
The far left card will need the longest cable I recon 50cm would be just enough.

radio shack and best buy sell a usb extension cable for like 15 bucks

or if your on the west coast frys electronics

hey fengush, can't you put an angle profile(had to translate) at this side, put the cards on it to lower them. and put another angle profile at the other side of the cards for support?

Do not do this!

A USB 2.0 cable, which is what that link was referring to, only has 4 wires. Very easy to work with, and very simple. I was cutting, splicing, and soldering USB cords to broken keyboards when I was a young teenager.

A USB 3.0 cable has 10 wires, which for a novice is much harder to work with. See the difference here:

Yes, three feet, but someone created zip ties for a reason.

The riser can't work with a cable longer than 1m and it has to be USB 3 cable thus my fucked up situation. I know I can improvise, mount the card lower, rise the mobo, install the cards horizontally, I can even use another riser as extension cord, but they're all ghetto hacks I want to avoid.
Splicing usb 3.0 cable with my toolset sounds like a recipe  for disaster.

You may want to contact someone who sells entire powered USB 3.0 risers in EU, and see if they can:

1) Sell you spare USB 3.0 cables they have.
2) Tell you where you might be able to find some.


If i had more time at the moment, I would look for you. I just need to get going though. I shall check back later.

Awesome, glad I could help! Hope it all works out for you. I am going to be moving a rig into a newly built aluminum case, hopefully I have done the measurements right and won't be short on cable length. It might be close though :P
