Title: cowboy bebop currency IS bitcoin
Post by: ctoon6 on September 12, 2011, 12:35:06 AM
i finally realized what the cowboy bebop currency is, its bitcoins, or as they call it woolongs. they are able to transfer coins from one person to another through the use of handheld devices. i always wondered how they did it without being able to dupe money.

just thought i would throw that out there for any other otakuおたく / オタク

Strangely, the non-bitcoin cryptocurriencies are about equal to one woolong.  We need a cowboy bebop fork.

Awesome? Though I think we can just use Woolong as yet another nickname for Bitcoin.

Awesome? Though I think we can just use Woolong as yet another nickname for Bitcoin.

Or, if Bitcoins ever start going towards higher prices and things are bought in c฿ (0.01), we could just call those Woolongs ₩ instead. :-D

฿ 0.01 = ₩ 1.00

I like it. I will be launching a site in the coming months that work in c฿, and I'll just use ₩ instead. :-D

It is roughly the 2071 equvilent of the Yen, and 1 ₩ (as a rough estimate) is equivalent to 10 US cents.

wonder if there will ever be a mock client where you can change the name of it, like from bitcoin to cosbycoin or buttcoin, from a menu or something. it would use the same exact chain and everything, just different text. id opt for the woolong myself  8)

My other idea was, since SecondLife Lindens, aka LL, are nicknamed llamas, and Bitcoin is famous for alpaca socks, that it could be nicknamed 'pacas to honor one of the first businesses that accepted it, and sort of follow online currency domesticated animal theme. I doubt that will catch on though :P
